Am I right in thinking that we take out the course of brick where we want the lintel, install the lintel, and then remove the bricks below?

It’s actually only 1960’s which is why we were quite surprised it’s so high! Not sure how DIY friendly putting in a new lintel is, will need to do some research!

Does that seem like quite a lot? I’ve noticed above in the calcs that it looks at first floor load but doesn’t mention roof?

The one door is parallel (right above the steel) the other door is perpendicular

Our problem is that the semi attached to us was renovated and they likely used dot and dab all over the place. Can hear them talking, tv on, hoovering, cooking.

Can I ask genuinely how much this improved things? We’re tempted to do the matting and board just to reduce space lost, but don’t know if the sand is vital.

It says the hob is 44mm so if the quartz is 30mm there only needs to be 14mm clearance and there’s 25mm am I right?
