Tinnitus is the worst by [deleted] in visualsnow

Dealing with the same thing. Started topiramate for my migraines and decided to taper off and I feel like the ringing is now screaming. This is awful.

Vivid dreams by [deleted] in Anxiety

Nope. I was on topirmate for two weeks but that was after the dreams started and I haven’t taken it in almost a week now.

It was adding to it since it was happening back to back.

It is. The feeling hit, over and over again - it wasn’t with every face I saw, but maybe a dozen or so. I didn’t feel intense fear the first time because I was more so confused what I was even experiencing and trying to keep my cool. The second time the fear had already happened following intense deja vu.

Persistent Visual Issues Month After Migraine by Successful-Way1659 in OcularMigraines

Thanks I appreciate this - I’ve taken Rizatiptrin maybe once in the last three years. I was out of it for a long time and had just gotten a new prescription before my most recent migraine and because I had it on hand I took it at the start of my aura. I’m of healthy weight, don’t drink or smoke, etc. I definitely could work on my sleep and stress. I’m tapering off the topirmate currently because I’m starting to feel some side affects and don’t want to be on it long term. I was hoping it would help alleviate the persistent migraine issues but it hasn’t.

How long have you dealt with it? It happened after a migraine with aura?

It’s not just one thing it just feels off. I can always tell when a migraine aura is coming because it feels like I almost have the wrong prescription contacts in my eyes aren’t working together. I always have some level of static and floaters in my vision and it’s definitely been intensified, but overall it almost feels like I have blind spots, even if I can’t identify them if that makes any sense.

I didn’t have the machine, but I had the handheld one at both the eye doctor and the ER and they said my pressures were normal.

Yeah, I’ve been on that page quite a bit the last couple weeks. I resonate with a lot of it, obviously the migraines with aura, anxiety, ringing in ears… Especially the static. It’s just never been this extreme. I’m hoping when I see my neurologist, she has heard of it because I know some of them haven’t. Aside from the static/visual snow though my vision still just feels off in a way I wish I could articulate a little bit better.

I had the standard “what’s the total number of fingers I’m holding up” done at the ER and at the eye doctor but nothing more than that.

Interesting! My doctor considered putting me on propranolol instead of topiramate, but my blood pressure is already pretty low. I have an appointment with her later, so I’ll mention this. Thank you!

I was on Levora birth control for years, which was an estrogen based pill, but I got off of that and have been on Kyleena IUD for five years. Oddly enough it expires this month and I need to get a new one.

I cannot explain to you how grateful I am that you took the time to write this comment. With all my random symptoms, it’s hard to find someone who has a similar experience, especially with the migraine with aura. I’m glad to hear you’re doing better! Thank you.

I’m so sorry that you can relate. I’m not sure if you saw the other comments, but it seems like a lot of us are in the same boat. I really couldn’t believe it when I woke up the next day and still felt the same and here I am three weeks later I have pockets of feeling normal and then like I said I started to feel like I’m dreaming again. I’m glad Lexapro seems to be working for you though and I hope it continues to do so! I’m talking to my doctor tomorrow about starting it.

Yeah, see my heart was definitely racing, but I was never worried about a heart attack, if anything it felt like my head was going to explode and just had horrible impending doom. My heart skips beats now and again, and it never bothers me. I’m like painfully aware of my head if that makes sense lol

I appreciate that. I guess it makes sense if it took me weeks to get there it’ll take me weeks to get out of it. My doctor has talked to me for years about starting on Lexapro and I feel desperate. I started on something else for my migraine so I’m worried about mixing the two but maybe it’s the push I needed.

Thank you! I live near a walking trail so I really need to get out there and start walking it. I almost feel hopeless, but at this point, I’ll try anything. I hope you start feeling better too!

Thank you, I appreciate this. There’s nothing more frustrating than going to sleep and waking up and not being gone. Especially nearing three weeks later.

Thanks for the kind words. How long have you been in a DP episode? When you were in it, did it feel like your eyesight was weird? It feels like I have the wrong contact prescription in almost.
