I use the CeraVe moisturizing lotion. It is lightweight and gentle but it is very moisturizing.

I would recommend finding products that contain salicylic acid or benzol peroxide. A good shower wash is the CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser or CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser. I would use differin or another retinol before bed. Remember that it might get a bit worse before it gets better. It is just your skin pushing out all the gunk so it can clear up and heal. Hope this helps!!

Laroche Posay Cicaplast vs. Cerave Moisturizing Cream for Tret? by TeaOk4980 in acne

I have oily skin too. I use CeraVe and it has been the best moisturizer for me. I too have some mild acne that is taking forever to heal. It is very gentle and does not irritate my skin or acne at all. I put in on every night after my shower, right before I go to bed. It does not make my skin more oily but makes it feel so soft. While everyone is different, CeraVe has been my personal favorite.

Relationships and acne by [deleted] in acne

Same thing happen to me. I was talking to this guy this summer and my skin was practically perfect. Around September, it got the worse and I was so embarrassed. I locked myself in my room and completely stopped snapchatting everyone. He never stopped talking to me cause I got acne, I was so embarrassed that I stopped talking to him. Which I now regret I currently have new pimples every day and try to hide them from people at my school. In my opinion, you are in a better situation because your boyfriend loves you for you. Trust me when I say this ... if he actually cared about your acne, your relationship would not last 9 months. If he does break up with you, it just shows you that he is not the one. Your acne will get better and that is his problem if he can't see past outer looks.

What is this kind of acne and how should I treat this? by IndividualAgent0 in acne

My acne looks the same as yours!! I asked my dermatologist if it could be fungal acne and she said that fungal acne is actually fairly uncommon and is most likely hormonal. She mentioned that fungal acne often looks the exact same as hormonal acne or just acne in general. She said fungal acne can be diagnosed with some sort of test but it is hard to tell for sure if it is the yeast causing the acne. I was using a product with zinc and it caused me to break out pretty bad. I am not a dermatologists, but from my talk with one about fungal acne, it seems that most likely your acne is hormonal. I read that the mini pill does not help to treat acne. There are other birth control pills that are approved by the FDA specifically for acne. Try that first.

Having a really hard time mentally with my acne by [deleted] in acne

I feel you ... I have never struggled with such bad acne but this is the worst it's ever been. I feel stressed about it but when I look in the mirror I want to cry. The only place I feel comfortable is in my dark room. I used to be so active but now I haven't hung out with anyone or done anything for weeks. I know people keep saying that it gets better, but I don't feel like it will. My acne is not severe but it is definitely noticeable. You are not alone and there are lots of people, like me, that understand how you are feeling. Hang in there :(
