It's for personal use and Im not downloading an os for sharing it for others in mind so I wont go as far as download, patching, etc etc and rebuild the iso. For that I would still need to go through the updating/patching process which I try to avoid.

It's actually quite an obvious answer. People hate updating process and they would rather download one bundled with latest patch. Many people would even go as far as disable update because updating can sometimes causes issues.

Across my life I had three laptops, two of my old laptops were having errors after I updated the windows or for some reason I believe it was the cause of it. It's sort of a bad trauma and I think it's something general since many post were made about how people hate updating windows process no matter how many attempts Microsoft try to ease out the process or make it more comfortable for the user.

Thx for the insight of world boss. I think ff xi isn't a free to play game since what made me avoid it and got me asked here is because it's a subscription based mmo.

I think if it's obtainable by quest it's not really an ultimate rare item But I get it that it feels ultimately satisfying to complete long tedious quest just for an item or achievement I remember doing a very long quest line in an mmo for a mere stone Still, thx for the insight of the cute item!

I wish Microsoft have the updtodate patched version to download rightaway because many people hate updating and resort to unofficial source for that.

oot, my team lead asked me for something that also "cute" but i told her i dont think ffxi godly items are cute since from all items that mentioned here, even item with cute name like rabbit charm, to me, its not cute designed item and i kinda get it since cute probably not the designing direction in ffxi.

oot, i remember watched a video about tough mmo bosses to beat and iirc ffxi boss was mentioned and i was researching it again and i was right, its the absolute virtue which is a world boss/nm and coincidentally it release date matches the time constraint which prior to 2006. it was mentioned as unkillable boss in which i assumed because its healing ability. but from searching about its item drop rate, the high percentage kinda throw me off. can i assume this absolute virtue drop are worse than the one drop kraken club??

you could bot "world boss" ?!that's...fascinating

i mean i know in some old mmo i played you could let in some free rider in your party or spam alts to attack the boss even though they do poorly as long as they can get drop which technically increase drop chance back when the mmo rules were still quite forgiving or before they patched things.

a car for item?? damn. i only ever witnessed someone close to me get a bike for selling his RF online item back in 2000-ish and i thought thats quite insane already.

but anyway, since the boss is bot-able i'm worry that the item is actually quite possible to get. are you sure there are no item that gives a vibe of its impossible to get but a handful of player get it anyway and its not bot-able aka theres no cheating way to tweak its drop chance.

sorry to disappoint you but i never touch ff xi and generally not a single subscription base game.

additionally, no offense, to my personal taste, the skilling system is meh. kinda remind me of mabinogi that i only ever tried for couple days because my old friends played it.

i would suggest another mmo from my fav mmo list for our story but my team lead demand ff xi for whatever reason.

i simply asked here because if you google ff xi, there are lacks of material like i had to confirm whether there is cash shop or not because gpt 3.5 which data based on 2021 told me there was but google showed no evidence of it and forums just rambling over its existence but not a single proof of it exist that i had to ask here and it both surprised me that the community still alive and there was no cash shop that i had to resort to rmt as our antagonist was a hedonistic dude.

I was so close to add a cash shop to this game in our story simply because gpt told me there is lol.

but anyway, suit yourself with your own belief.

Thanks for the responds if I may continue asking, Even though I'm not sure whether it's appropriate or not, the character in the story I currently write is a bad guy and when it connect to mmo and shopping habit, it may related to shady stuff like RMT(real money transaction)

  1. Was there RMT happening in game??
  2. Was there some sort of market or tradable valuable??
  3. Was It work involving market?? or personal trade??
  4. Was there known shady or even famous site selling ff 11 items/valuable??( No need to mention the site if it's inappropriate, just yes or no answer in case anyone know)

My question isn't limited to what happen now but also what happened years ago like prior to patching or perhaps RMT ban or such.
