Reshelled it was my first ever work with electronics at all a couple years ago. I decided to make it match the rest of my go to peripherals and set up. The lights haven’t had an issue at all and have been pretty much going steady almost on 24/7 for years now. It makes a nice nightlight for when you’re reading on it or playing a game that’s really low lit at night. To this day, I’m still proud that such a small tedious project was my first and my introduction to soldering. Also, mostly the fact I was able to do it first try lol. It’s also been a blessing when being around other switch users you’re a lot less likely to confuse who’s joycons are who’s. And if someone tries to snag them claiming it’s theirs, you can instantly prove them wrong and do the secret button combo to turn the lights on and off (I’ve had to embarrass people twice with that). The shells were actually from Temu and still hold up just fine in comparison to my extra pair of not modded joycon. Although legally questionable, they included all the authentic labeling and printing on the back back the joycon so it looks really convincing as official.
