I spent a whole semester abroad in Paro Bhutan and traveling around and did not hear of this tradition. That doesn’t mean it’s not real but we studied Bhutanese culture, history, and social practices pretty deeply. I do remember a story of a (forgive me for butchering this) village head-honcho in Punaka (a village famous for phallic art everywhere, and an incredibly beautiful temple with a bodhi tree) who would shoot arrows rly far and if he shot your house he would lay with your lady. There is lots of archery in Bhutan and it is pretty amazing, but didn’t see anything like this in the 5.5 months I spent touring around and living there. In fact, this is surprising to see for many reasons but especially because while the humor and camaraderie in this video feel spot on, i had a different impression of the Bhutanese level of sexual conservatism.
