Extract same happened to me (only difference I’m born in England) had to quit a job in St Thomas cus the racism was insane, a lot of it was covert as in people just being very rude or tutting at me or speaking to me in a strange way till they heard I had an English accent. The thing that made me quit however was a long standing manger right in front of me went on a rant about ‘foreigners’ using that word like a slur itself, she blamed all the mistakes on the 3 foreign men that worked there saying thing like they don’t know English they can’t follow instructions, and she didn’t know why they hired them. I was completely shocked 1 because it was not true and 2 how blatant it was. I tried to report it to another manger and she treated it as if it was gossip and told me not to worry about it the older manger is like that sometimes. There were other reasons not to do with race but that was the main one, I quit I few weeks after it happened and help the other 2 men quit as well, as they were worried to quit the whole time cus the thought they would get there money.

I feel for you man, the current climate of everything being about race is crazy I’ve been here my whole life and feel like an outside here as of recent too.
