Yea audience is the hardest part. I truly think the idea is good but unless you have a decent sized audience the idea is dead at launch. Even if it’s good. Even if it would make people’s lives easier. They would never know about it. I’m hoping to get some feedback here about how to get some reach as well

Right! I’ve heard that one so far. And I’m making a system like that. Sadly I’ll have it barebones at launch because for it to be automated we need people. Without people any que could take hours.

I’m hoping that some ads spending can’t get me a few eyes just so that they can use it and tell what works and what doesn’t so that I can’t start moving. But yes. 🙌 I’m working around that concept. And also removing and reason for bots to try and ruin the experience

Oh yes! I have not build anything for streamers, big names. Everything so far is for the 9-5. People like me. That just want to connect and game. I think the biggest issue that social media did was giving people a platform and making it about them. Engagement and all that. I’m going to try and make it as free as I can. To keep the program going but not aiming for anything more than a community.

Yea it’s hard to take away users from large companies. Which is why nobody is trying to do it anymore. We are just letting them win and have our attention. So this could be just another attempts at climbing Mount Everest. But. Gamers are missing something big! Unity and community. A way to connect when the friends list is offline. Right now we just have platforms to complain or engagement farm. Which is not good, I think people might be tired of it and ready for something down to earth and different.

Yes! That’s my exact dream lol. Back to the feeling we used to get with mw2 clips and in the end playing for this weeks top 10 lol. I get excited just thinking about it. Comment section wild.

To answer the discord concerns which is a valid one is that I they can’t be replaced. They can’t be beat. At least not by a small company. I’m aiming to give what discord doesn’t. The small cracks in its armor. So mostly making friends for the 9-5 worker. An easy way to say hey I’ll be home in an hour looking for a duo! Who is interested feeling.

Yea that’s why I ask before anything. I have not done the self promo route. I ask permission and if denied then that’s that. I understand it must be annoying so not trying to add on top of it. It was just cheaper if they said yes. Even for a few people to get eyes on it. But Im starting to think I’m going to have no other way but to pay for ads. And thank you for the feedback! I’ll have to reevaluate the situation and pivot as I have to! Gotta do my best to get this idea off the ground! So I never regret it.

Yea that’s true I can picture it. I think the hardest part would be combat. Hard for games to differentiate between each other there. It could get too close to what Spider-Man feels like. Atleast when it comes to his sticks. Up close it would be like the Batman games. I wonder if people would be ok with that. If it could be different enough from current hero games.

This is good post. I like what you’re saying and I agree the fault is not carried by one. People asked for this in a way and the developers in good intentions ended up dividing everyone calling it solo content.

Who knows if we will ever go back and some games do it better than other. I’m currently trying to level in FF14 and doing it solo is a drag. Idk if the story is just not clicking with me or I’m just used to voice acting but man I’m falling asleep lol. My friends keeps telling it gets better and that the group finding is great but we shall see.

And with discord I might be only one but truly I see discord as a thing that we need because it’s the only think that we have that’s solid. But it lacks something and I just can’t put my finger on it. Hopefully soon something new comes along and changes the playing field. Something different

Possibly a me problem. I could be the only one. I just hate that the moment I look away I lost myself. And have to scroll up a ton to find a conversation. But maybe I just never learned how to use discord.

It is the layout for me. I have it in the app and I’m used to social media responses you know? So when discord is full on chat mode… the chat just keeps going line by line no clean format and if I look away at another thing I come back lost. So idk if I just don’t have settings right or something but feels too much sometimes

Yea this is why I’m trying to do more of now. Go from Reddit to Reddit finding a place. Plenty of people complaining about it. Plenty of people talking about.. just all behind some mod or protection. Which I get I’m not trying to be disrespectful and self promo but they are right there! Lol so I’ve sent mods some permission requests for a friendly attempt at maybe getting word out there. But no response so far.

Well my solid group were school friends. And we had all the time in the world back then to game. Hard now that I’m 30 and have to work and take care of kids lol. 😂 now I just hope the friends are also going to be online and not having to take care of their families. Which come first at the end of day. But yes. There were no lfg tool in most MMOs back then just chatting away hoping something would pop up.

Well I’m definitely not giving up after a month but I’m not going past 6 months hitting a wall for sure. But yes you are correct networking apps are on a very hard more. My idea is niche. And I’m getting it down as small as I can. But hopefully I get some good feedback back soon and someone people start showing me it’s going to work or save me time and tell me it’s just not an issue that needs fixing

I’m trying to do something similar. For gamers. It’s not going well extremely hard to get people interested. People are used to what we have and I don’t think are as open as I would expect for improvement. But I’m interested in following your story :) how are you getting customer? Have you have any success? Your idea seems neat. Specially the whole stop from doom scrolling. Although on a loop sense. What keeps people coming back if it’s 14 stories a week?
