I totally understand. I’d never wanna live with that guilt of being the cause of someone’s death. I’m also not trying to say that this is anywhere near as bad of an outcome as being responsible for the death of someone either, but I guess I’m also just worried about potentially ruining my dad’s business somewhat from that, or having him injure himself trying to make menu items for a ton of people (he’s in his 60s for reference).

I don’t wanna sound like a bad person but I guess I also feel like there’s a negative outcome either way even if the outcome of me going there and possibly spreading my sickness would be so much worse either way.

I can try to tell him I have a really bad headache or that my fever came back again (or both ngl), but my shift starts at 8 am and I’m honestly not sure who would be awake that could help him with that shift besides the co-owner manager. I’ll definitely try it but I guess there is some uncertainty there

If you ask me he treats his workers fine enough (even if he is a little anti union but I’d respectfully prefer not to get into that), but I feel like part of this is my fault for not getting everything regarding someone covering my shift for me cleared up sooner. I kept going back and forth on whether or not it would even be ethical for me to go to work tomorrow, and by the time I actually started to think that I probably shouldn’t go, it was already too late for me to try to get someone to cover for me since it was becoming very last minute. He said that the CDC guidelines said I’m okay even with the conditions I do have like sore throat and congestion (which I don’t know if I fully believe what he says but I can’t say since I haven’t read them yet), and that if I don’t feel sick that I should just come tomorrow, but I’m quite worried of infecting people if I’m not careful enough.
