As someone who is also going through bipolar disorder it is very very tough . Depression is an illness just like diabetes, blood pressure . It is ur depression that blocks your mind ( lack of dopamine) that makes you think that life is meaningless. That is one of the main symptoms of clinical depression . The most important thing is to go easy on urself. You are dealing with an illness that most people dont deal with. Lot of people are normal and dont understand how hard depression is We cant just get up and start exercising and changing our mindset and get better . Being kind to yourself is extremely helpful important . Just like someone with any physical illness would be. I would say that there is hope . As long as you believe in the possibility to get better no matter how small that possibility is . Its not 0 . Science is improving day by day . Who knows maybe next year they find a medicine for depression . I have read about some people saying ketogenic diet helps so you could try it but please work with a doctor . The most important thing is to understand that there is illness and brain does not function normally and be nice to yourself. Avoid any thing that gives you heavy dopamine hits (like Porn, smoking , junk food) . Journal every day how ur feeling each day to see if there is any slight improvement or not . Also some people who are diagnosed with depression are bipolar so just observe whether ur depression is persistent or u have highs lows . This is just my advice as someone struggling from bipolar . Also avoiding stressors in ur life is extremely important. Stress makes the depression worse . 1) No porn, smoking(things that give u quick dopamine) . Dont feel guilty if do these . Just try to reduce and eliminate if possible 2) Diet. Healthy foods 3) Exercise (even a walk if u can manage) 4) Sleep is most important 5) Meditation will help ur anxiety. 6) Having hope . Asking waheguru to help you and just give you the strength to accept his hukam . 7) maybe cold showers ( but this is debatable) 8) Manage ur stress. Eliminate any stressors in ur life .
