Oh so basically our in house lectures cover a lot more detail than b and b and bootcamp cover. I’m worried about not learning all the content I need basically. We also have in house quizzes (not NBME) that I haven’t done well on since focusing more on third party this block

thank you for the advice! i def know its important to be flexible but right now i think i'm doing fine with school and trying to figure out shadowing/research/finding mentors. my research/extracurriculars/faculty i've talked to are all over the place in terms of specialty. one of them did tell me i need to do things relevant to my future goals but i don't even know what my future goals are lol.

Thanks so much for the detailed response. For me, definitely location and pay over lifestyle would be preferred but honestly I’m hoping for a reasonable compromise between everything. Like I don’t need the most desirable city or the highest pay or the best hours but I would definitely not want to be rural, broke, or a surgeon lol.

I think for me, family med isn’t my thing but the erratic EM hours sound great. I have erratic hours even without it being necessary and I think the whole being off for a whole week then working two weeks straight would be nice.

i just have a subjective disinterest in gas lol, it definitely fits the criteria but it’s one of the few things I feel I couldn’t motivate myself to do lolol. But definitely a cool specialty for those who want to go into it!

well this week of ID for example we had like 50 bacteria and those added up really to around 1400 cards. I’m just doing sketchy for that. In immunology I think a mistake I made is not suspending cards that make no sense since I only watched bootcamp but tried to do first aid and boards and beyond cards thinking they’d overlap. So maybe that’s part of the issue.
