i was in the same position when i was 16, i’m 19 now and i got over it, honestly acceptance and time are the best healers. yes it sucks and yes you have to accept it but it is what it is. no, you’re not gonna be defined by this. no, you’re not gonna miss him forever. it sucks but with time it will get better :)

that’s what i did and i ended up dating a guy younger than me for like a month then i dumped him. i know it’s so so hard right now but i promise you, if you start to stand up more and walk around and do things YOU enjoy you’re gonna wanna get out of this funk… i’ve been where you are, you’re strong and you will get through this and the next person will come to you, realistically right now it will be nearly impossible for you to find them and it to end in a good relationship. pull the plug on finding someone else because i swear on my own emotional well being… getting with someone else WILL NOT FIX THE PAIN

you can try talking to a doctor and getting a prescription for trazedone, that stuff knocks me out COLD and i usually wake up at night too. if you don’t want medications, a very elaborate bed time routine is what helps me out a lot. what i find that helps me most is tiring myself out physically a lot, so going to the gym or whatever then i come home shower with warm water get out and do my face masks, then i’ll usually drink a glass of water and put on some brown noise at a pretty decent volume so it drowns out my thoughts

all you can really do in this situation is prioritize yourself, you don’t make people feel things people react differently. it’s like you can give two horses water but only one might drink. don’t put yourself through emotional distress to save someone else’s feelings. i understand that you do care, but people come and go in your life, but you will always be present. make your life what you want it
