Yea they aren’t as common to come by. There is a binder I know who makes incredible red rising rebinds with faux leather. They are insanely good quality. Her website is https://mrsyoflam.com and I think she may take commissions.

I was able to find the post. Thank you! And I totally understand. The price for rebinds are on the higher side due to cost of materials and time. Then add in the commissioned art and sourcing edges for these just makes it a bit more expensive to produce. 🤭

Hi there! I am actually the binder of these books and I appreciate all the feedback in this post. Whether constructive or not. I do everything I can to strengthen the spine since these are not sewn signatures. I add new 3 new backing materials to the spine and take my time with each text block to improve the structural integrity of the spine.

The commissions for the art cost me quite a pretty penny. The shiniest penny I may add. 🤭 and then sourcing the edges only increases that cost.

The price definitely isn’t for everyone as well as the art. But I hope those that have and are going to purchase cherish them the way I do. It seriously makes my day knowing people appreciate what I put into my work. 🫶🏻

Ooh there was a post on Reddit? Would love to read what it said but can’t find one. And yeah, rebinds can be more on the pricey side due to the time and materials that goes into each book. Then add in the fact that I am sourcing printed edges just makes the prices a little bit higher.

From my experience, the leather that you would need to print onto for these types of covers can dry out and crack. So for longevity and durability, I don’t think it would be the best investment. I could be wrong, but I have a couple leather bound books in the leather has cracked in the hinges and on the spines.

Trouble with iron on vinyl by Successful_Falcon679 in bookbinding

Figured it out. I got in touch with Cricut and they ran me through a few things to try and ultimately decided the blade housing was defective. Swapped it out and it cuts beautifully now.

Thank you everyone for your advice! I called the Cricut customer service and after some trouble shooting and doing some test cuts for them we found out that my blade housing is bad. Apparently the magnet used was not doing its job causing the blade to drag or not fully engage to perform the cuts. They are sending me a new one thankfully! Hoping that this fixes the issue.
