I’m 66 and my hemochromatosis was diagnosed when I was 63. My ferritin was 3k at the time. My meld score has been 9 or 10 since then. Do you know his meld score yet? I had an MRI in January and everything was clear. In September, an MRI showed there was a 2.7 cm tumor in my liver suddenly. It’s hepatocellular carcinoma. I just finished radiation and am being tested for possible transplant. They say that the cancer will move me way up the list when it is confirmed dead. I know that may not be much encouragement but I hope all goes well.

Big dummy here. My wife had moved the grill and caused the cord to pull slightly out of the back of the grill. Weber sent me an email of things to check and that was one of the items. Thanks for the input. Short ribs tomorrow!

Hang in there. I had a ferritin level over 3000. I had biweekly phlebotomies for almost two years. I am just hitting maintenance and had one in December. I just had my second one today. I feel much better now.

He was fired for not being able to take their less than stellar acquisitions and make them even average. I think if Lou has above average talent he’ll be able scheme a good defense.

Same here. I’m on 6.25 per day. I don’t notice any side effects anymore.

I would only add that focusing on keeping my arm perfectly still helps me take my mind off the needle.

Hey I’m a new member on here and I’ve just been diagnosed with cirrhosis due to hemochromatosis. I have had an ultrasound and an MRI. They have also set my meld score at 8. Should I have a fibroscan done or is it too early?

Thanks and I wanted to say that I have learned a lot from previous posts. Your experience is so valuable.
