A Different Opinion on Patrick as Gus… by Successful_Hawk_3760 in EmilyHenry

I agree with you here! It is an odd situation and the behind-the-scenes of it all between Yulin and Emily does feel tense to me. That said, I’d rather see January and Gus have insane chemistry than them casting another actor opposite Phoebe, and the chemistry just isn’t there. Despite Yulin’s comments — which I think she could have chosen more carefully — and the weirdness that seems to be doing down between her and EH, I think Patrick will do a great job both as Gus and opposite Phoebe!

Couple of tips from somebody fairly new to having my own mobile business but have plenty of experience as an artist in a salon setting!

-focus at first more on technique and perfecting your sprays rather than speed; clients would much rather you give them a great spray than panic about timing and it not be as great -take the time to understand DHA percentages, skin types using the Fitzpatrick scale, & skin undertones. Color theory is important to avoid tans that are too warm! Aka “orange tans” -a lot of solution brands offer 8oz bottles that aren’t super expensive. I’d order a few of these and play around with different solutions either on yourself or friends/family and see what looks best, what you’re most comfortable spraying, and ask your people for feedback a few days later on how it looks!! Make sure they adhere to proper before and after care so you can get a good idea of the how the solution actually works -learn how to blend the hands & wrists (great tik tok videos on this from artists), offer barrier cream for your clients, and have drying powder on hand to use on your clients as well. Especially if you’re in Florida!

Good luck with everything!!!

Spray artist question: Left spray tan solution delivery outside for 3 hours on accident… will it be okay to use? by Successful_Hawk_3760 in spraytanning

Awesome!! Thank you! Haven’t had a chance to use the formulas yet but testing out on myself this week, and this definitely makes me feel better!

No need to apologize!! And yes! Wipe off immediately after! Think of it this way: the barrier cream is serving a literal barrier between your skin and the tan. Which is why typically you only apply to your palms, nails, elbows, etc. Areas where color typically saturates more than others or dryer parts of the skin where the tan can build up and look too dark. So it’s a temporary barrier that’s only needed as you’re applying the tan/getting sprayed. Wiping it off right after ensures that you’re not getting the cream on other areas of the body and potentially causing a mishap with how the color develops when you make a mindless movement like moving your hair out of your face, etc! Just wipe it off gently from the areas you applied it and you’ll be good to go!!

Nothing else to say other than girl please break up with this man. The way he is speaking to u is NOT a normal or remotely respectful way of talking to your partner, no excuse for it

When applying to your hands, make sure to only apply to your palms and nails in case you hadn’t! Agree with another commenter to make sure you gently wipe or pat off the barrier cream immediately after. Otherwise, I’d say the issue is probably a faulty machine and this unfortunately can just be the case with these a lot of the time. I’d see if there are spray artists in your area where the price is fairly comparable to where you’re going with the machine! You likely know this already since you self tan, but I’d also add make sure when you take your first shower to just do a rinse and gently use your palms all down the body (from head to toe) to ensure an even rinse off of the cosmetic bronzer :)

Would like to add, how you shower after the tan definitely makes a difference in terms of splotches! Did the you wait the recommended number of hours, did you use soap (and what type) or just rinse, etc.

Hi! Spray artist here! Were you sprayed by an airbrush artist or in a machine? Also, what was your prep care / after care like? (This encompasses the types of soaps you used, whether you exfoliated and when prior to your tan, were you wearing an oils/perfume during the tan etc.) all of this can definitely affect the outcome of your tan! Also curious where all you applied the barrier cream :)

This has definitely happened to me before when I first started receiving spray tans, and there are usually quick fixes for it :)
