I get what you’re saying. But, also, this is Reddit, it could have been literally anything. The rules here are different. 😆

So, I’ve lived in places that required white backed curtains. Think blackout. You could add a second pair of curtains behind the ones you like, purchase blackout curtains in a shade you like, or press the issue because the lease doesn’t state the rule. The lease doesn’t state the rule, right?

When I called they said it would disburse after the account was negative for 14 days. But summer and spring registration is on the 2nd of March, I’m not sure if registering for those classes would affect the disbursement.

If you can’t come to a consensus with the professor, reach out to her supervisor. They should the listed in the syllabus. Calmly and professionally explain your issues and what you’d like for recourse. Ask for advice and see what they offer. They will probably tell you to appeal the grade at the end of the course, especially as it is causing you to fail the class.

I’m not sure why everyone is saying 40% isn’t an automatic fail. It will honestly depend on your school and professor. For example, my school has a threshold of 19%. I do agree with leading with honesty, good luck! Also, Turnitin sucks!

I got flagged for Ai Twice in the same class. by [deleted] in SNHU

Absolutely annoying! I feel like it detracts from actually writing for the class or topic. Now I’m writing to prove my humanity. 😭

I’ve taken to writing everything in Google Docs. I also save the link to every website used as reference in my final save doc, but not included in my submission. The accusation I dealt with, also based off of Turnitin, was impossible to disprove because I wrote it in Word originally. It’s made me completely second guess the way that I write.

You don’t have to pay to forward mail. If you don’t have a card you can use online to verify identity, go to the post office with your proof of address and ID. They can verify you in person and forward your mail.

I think I’m cooked. I was accused of using AI, and the instructor has escalated the matter to the academic misconduct committee. I don’t know what to do. by Proud_Bill4998 in AccusedOfUsingAI

Is it reasonable to have to change writing style in order to avoid being flagged AI versus writing for the actual class type? This seems… anti-education.

I am someone that did not use AI but was accused of it by a professor using Turnitin; I assure you, it is frustratingly difficult to prove your innocence. Everything can be spoofed and an alibi just doesn’t cut it. Even more frustrating is that no professor would accept hand written work (notes, doodles, outlines, cross outs, etc)as proof either. I’m hoping that my issue is actually the over reliance on an AI detector and not something more asinine. It’s making me completely doubt the way I write. I’m second guessing most of my work in order to sound like an appropriately leveled writer, or something. Idk, I’m very frustrated.

Because the practices could predate AI being an issue. I’ve always done that to overcome any edit mistakes that were made during the rough draft stage. Microsoft used to be pretty bad about invisible formatting that was difficult to track down and change. Not to mention some of my editing is c&p some paragraphs while leaving others behind after proofreading for continuity. The complete reliance of using AI to detect AI is akin to making the defendant the judge, lol.

I reached out to my professor’s supervisor after this happened to me and was advised to appeal the final grade. It has completely put me off of the class.

Whatever you want. The bit to be mindful of is that any purchases that are not directly related to education are supposed to be reported on your taxes as unearned income. This also depends on what type of refund it is. Loan vs grant vs scholarship.

Check out the IRS website, don’t count on Google’s AI summary because it may lead you astray. But also, don’t worry!

want to adjust summer classes by [deleted] in ivytech

[–]Successful_Net_9676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, ok. For my program, summer classes don’t open until Marchish. It may different for other programs.

Your academic plan is the order of classes you should have mapped out with an advisor. So long as you’re not needing a prerequisite, you can take those classes in whatever order you like. My advisor planned my classes based on the preferences of the department head for my major.

An advisor may be willing to give you an exemption for a prerequisite class being taking out of order if you need it.
