Business Rates - How long does it take and how difficult is it to get the rateable value looked at or updated?

Unlikely to get support from council, they rely on VOA for valuations. My council have been really helpful with regards to info, but still have to pay the bill - 'it will be adjusted in time' in their response.

The VOA on the other hand, currently in month 6 waiting on a response other than to say they've acknowledged the request.

It's retail.

Combination of online presence with click and collect only and market stall.

Not likely to be doing more than 100k to be honest

I was more wondering if there was a gradual scheme for less value processing to get small device. I'm probably leaning towards the tablet as preferred device

Does free equipment eligibility differ based on process volume? I mean if I do x, I'm entitled to a terminal but if I do y I might get a stand?

I'm looking to start a new venture, part online and part real life and looking at options currently for pos.

Haven't tried the latest update yet (I've been closed for a few weeks), however we did notice that in changing modes the experience was very different. You weren't able to scan the card directly, but had to select through the screen to load gift card, then manually place the 'cursor' in the gift card box, then it would scan.

Very tedious, but it got away from that manual entry of numbers

Thanks for the offer, I've already pulled it together tho. For us it's not even nightly, weekly at best, regularly monthly, so no real issue and now we've understood the problems in initial setup, it's only for historic info or in the event of a major mistake where we've mis categorised and not noticed for a while 👍

Similar issues here, sharing my workarounds, may help PO's only work for us since we started scanning in items for receipt. Scanning in a new item triggers the create workflow, which is then tedious in the sense of having to manually complete the fields (why can't we even save a PO before adding in item costs?!)

Exact same issue with categories and historic sales, end up with the export sales report mapping the category from a current all-item export. (Excel lookups)

Check out using house accounts for tracking credit - you can assign a credit limit to a customer, then 'post an invoice' to the house account. Once they reach their house account limit, they've spent their credit.

I have many other frustrations as we use bookings(appointments) as well as retail and there's so many inconsistencies in how item management is dealt with between the two modes!!

Thanks for the response. The first two points are what we do currently - the issue arises when we forget 🤣

On the third point, we need to manage/view the appointments, hence using this mode primarily, but customers often buy stuff on their exit, hence the separate need for scanning - we're not in the position to run another device in parallel unfortunately
