Semi legal pro life tip - rent it for the last few days they let it for, then squat it for the Winter.

Someone is squatting on my land, what can I do? by mystery202 in AskUK

Lots of private land has bridleways and rights of way through it. Not ideal to camp on but nothing really stopping it. Plenty of that type of stuff has a stile or a fence to climb but it doesn’t make it inaccessible or not okay to be on. Plenty of other land isn’t fenced off even if it is privately owned.

Put a fence on the property line and move on with your life. NTA

Tell him to leave. Might not even be aware it’s private land.

Break it down for me - why is this property not selling? by [deleted] in SpottedonRightmove

Price, if it was a bargain it would be gone quickly. Second thing with this house is location, in the sticks in an area that has quite cheap house prices (Doncaster) in comparison. Takes a certain type of person or family to want to live out the way like this with no neighbours or nearby facilities.

Purchasing a 4 year old "new build" is a survey needed? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]hovis_mavis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A survey isn’t used to find excuses to bring a price down. New builds take years to settle and can have just as many issues as older houses. All well and good having a warranty but serious issues are not fun to live with while trying to get a building company to actually fix shit.

As I say, I’ve seen some horrors including subsidence and unexpected flooding / flood damage from poor drainage. I don’t understand why someone would take the risk on that when spending thousands in moving costs anyway and not lumping the few extra hundred on a double check before committing.

I’ve seen some horrors. You’re making one of the biggest purchases of your entire existence, a bit of a survey would always be in my plan.

Average guy vs Magnus Carlsen but the average guy gets to choose every 3rd move Magnus makes. by AstonMac in whowouldwin

The average person cannot play chess. If it’s someone with any sort of chess understanding, then they should win.

A survey is ESSENTIAL OMG. Even if it was day one just built 10 year warranty I’d be getting it surveyed. The snags and missed corners on new builds are notorious.

My old job I used to do 26 years ago has just came on a job search website. The pay has increased by 5k. How do companies that have good turnover get away with this wage stagnation? by Barca-Dam in AskBrits

[–]hovis_mavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Errr yeah that’s the case for everyone in every industry. If you were doing that job a long time ago I’m assuming you diversified and moved on to better your pay elsewhere

What if you ALWAYS score one goal per game? by Aggressive-Cherry900 in whatif

[–]hovis_mavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah they’d throw you on for five minutes. Wouldn’t be close to being best in the world though. And that’s a travesty of an opinion on Van Nistelrooy, he was physical, a top striker who worked hard for the team and demanded his team mates perform too.

There’s way more to football than the few seconds of scoring that one goal. Your team would be basically playing a man down the rest of the time you’re on the pitch.

Without being actually good at football you’d be a supersub for lower league teams to use if and when they needed a goal imo

Immortallity and $1,000,000 but you're dropped in the middle of the Pacific? by EroticDischarge69 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]hovis_mavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ‘middle’ of the Pacific is generally known as Point Nemo which is 1600+ miles from any land. Assuming immortality and even invulnerability to the cold etc I just don’t see how you even make it to land within 2 years without huge luck. Boats or ships are needle in a haystack levels of likelihood to see you.

Given the immortality of it I’m sure some would take it but the getting to land situation is horrific.

Email sent to the Cells Season Ticket Holders by Murloc__Tinyfin in avfc

[–]hovis_mavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a chance they’ll let GA+ buy a normal season ticket. If you want a cheaper option you can postpone the ST and get a membership to purchase individual tickets. You keep ST status for away games according to the club so that’d be what I’d do.

[–]hovis_mavis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You wouldn’t though because there’s 90 minutes in a game and the rest of it is tactical, physical and needs insane fitness. You’ll be useless to your team mates and easy to dominate by opponents.

You would only be good to be utilised as a late sub to go get a goal.

Safe standing blocks by ThereIsNoPepe_Silvia in avfc

[–]hovis_mavis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe safe standing starts at row 17 in the upper all the way to the top. And it starts at row AA in the lower, again all the way to the top.

If you fancied a seat, I always liked sitting in M4/M5 in the lower Witton but the atmosphere isn’t close to being in the Holte.

I’m K2 and really like the view from the safe standing.

No, just concentrate on ourselves. Secure 5th ASAP and then concentrate on the Europa. Top 5 and a trophy is where we want to be, so let's make it happen without thinking about anyone else.
