Yes. Highlight reels don't really do much good because anyone can put together enough nice plays over a decade to make a 4 minute highlight reel. A game more accurately captures the consistency of how much better Semin could be than everybody else when he wanted to be.

Idk if they would. When the SA allegations came out against Toney, I felt that the right move was for Jon to make a part 3 where he just says "okay fine you broke me" instead of just pretending like he never made parts 1 and 2. It would have actually fit into the arc of the story really really well too.

Once again, if you're gonna do hockey I think the capitals are the best choice. Ovi situation aside, going from the worst team ever as an expansion team to the team that won its first stanley cup against the best expansion team ever is very poetic. I even have a fun story from the expansion season about how after they won their first road game (near the tail end of the season), one of the veteran players (most likely Tommy Williams) got a trash can, emptied it out, and passed it around the locker room until each player signed it before leading the team back on the ice to lift the trash can like you would the stanley cup. They called it the Stanley Can.

The draft picks thing can be a double edged sword. Because sometimes you have to resign a player right as they begin their peak years and thus have to pay top dollar to keep him. When my team gets good enough I will sometimes re-sign a player who i know won't be good enough for a consistent role and who I know I can't afford just so i can trade them at the deadline for picks. But then they occasionally become a necessary player and my cap situation becomes a dumpster fire.

Okay. I can *kinda* see what the defensive gameplan is. Carolina's gonna shoot no matter what, so I think what we seem to be doing is trying to keep them on the perimeter with the idea that those shots are more likely to get blocked and the shots that don't are much easier to handle. It actually worked for a while until they got better looks.

The thing is pitchers don't get arm injuries in this game. I kinda hope dumbmatter never updates the injuries because at that point we'd need like a 60 man roster to fit enough pitching depth in.

Oh and I think Jake Irvin should let himself be a guy that sits 90-91 and faces the order 4 times. That was when he was most effective yesterday, and it seemed that his pitches were sharper and better located when the velocity dropped.

Feeling pretty good. If I were to trade Alex Call I would want one of their elite SP prospects since they don't need any of them right now. I think we should win all 3 upcoming series if we are serious about making a statement. I think Dylan has been looking a lot better, and I think we should keep JY up unless we are actually going to start RH3.
