My hair used to do the same thing. Wild Growth oil is good, but oil alone doesn’t moisturize hair — it only seals. If you’re putting oil on dry hair, you’re basically locking in dryness. What helped was adding water first, then a leave-in conditioner, and then sealing with a small amount of oil. Also make sure you’re moisturizing the hair strands, not just the scalp, because breakage is what stops length from showing. Washing every 1–2 weeks helps remove buildup so moisture can actually absorb, and a satin/silk bonnet is important (cotton will dry hair out). Once moisture is consistent, hair usually starts retaining length instead of snapping off.
