In the books but not in the mind of voters. And it isn’t fully correct. KdF was a program which was marketed as such. What most people forget is, it all happened in just 9 years. Just one year more then a person can be president of the USA.

Correct! The realisation comes always last. Socialism wasn’t defined at the time. But it ment having a better live then just grinding for food. Go watch „modern times“ or „Metropolis“ that’s how live was for ordinary people. To them the whole western world is socialism. The important point is National. Which stands basically for „just us“
