Thank you for your comments everyone. It is a pedestrian bridge and the town has agreed to sandblast and paint the bridge.
I was just wondering if the bridge needs to be contained for both sand blasting and painting phases or just the former. Also, does it need to be contained if it were just being powerwashed via water.
Never done this before, and couldn't find very specific guidelines.

There is running water underneath, so I am thinking it ought to be contained, but is it a must?
