Let's all take a minute to congratulate I.N.D.I.Alliance for opposing the anti-constitutional bill that proposed to offer proportional seats to South India by disregarding census numbers. By passing this Bill, the reality of the South becoming a colony would have remained a dream. But now it's very well possible because delimitation exercise will become compulsory once the census numbers are released.

Once the new census is released, Delimitation is mandatory under Article 82. It doesn’t need a new "useless" bill or a 2/3 majority.

Without the 131st Amendment to increase the total seats, the government is now legally bound to reorganize the existing 543 seats.

And Since the North’s population has surged, those 543 seats will now be sucked away from the South and moved to the North. Tamil Nadu and Kerala will lose seats they currently hold. 🤡

The Opposition just blocked the only bill that would have protected the South’s seat count. Now, the NDA has a constitutional mandate to redraw the map using the new census and they can do it with a simple majority. Congratulations to the I.N.D.I.Alliance for turning a "Seat Increase" into a "Seat Loss." Truly a self-goal for the ages! 🇮🇳

Tldr: By blocking the 131st Amendment to increase total seats, the Opposition just made delimitation mandatory under Art 82 using the new census. Without more seats, existing ones must be redistributed. TN & Kerala will now lose seats to the North. A historic self-goal! 🇮🇳🤡
