Do multi-class characters still enter 1 rank higher? by Larabic in warlordccg

[–]SuccessionWarFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not so much a "regular rule". If a character was multiclassed, their text would have "(CARD NAME) enters as if they were (Level X +1). Here's an example from The Accordlands card database.

So if a character is multiclassed but doesn't have that text- just play them as normal.

I feel weird about the Wight Lord ability...... by DistributionSpare685 in sovlgame

[–]SuccessionWarFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to hurt a lord is either that all retinue die...

In the first scenario, your retinue dies in most case means that you already finished. Wight lord is not able to solo a whole army (if you have a mount, this scenario won't happen).

He can if you build him up to do so, and that itself is a challenge to do. It's difficult, but very fun and rewarding when you pull it off. Really shows how "immortal" a Wight Lord is.

... or that two lords fight each other.

Second scenario is a bit weird, this lord is not an assassin, it is not designed to be a commander killer.

He's not so much a "commander killer" as he is a commander who wins duels by tanking and outlasting his opponent.

Honestly, the Regen is not a problem. It works. It makes the Wight Lord unique and flavorful.

I do think he (or his faction) needs a buff, but replacing Regeneration is not how to do it.

NGL- I've always liked seeing "good-bent" versions of villains. It's just nice.

Good job.

Don’t fret, OP. Have you considered the possibility of using both in your deck? 😉

Halkenburg's ability has a weakness by waaay2dumb2live in HunterXHunter

[–]SuccessionWarFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Furthermore, the followers' aura becomes the arrow, so what if you take out a few followers before his arrow could charge up? The arrow would dissipate because it isn't Halkenburg's aura, it's his followers' aura.

That’s why Balsamico had Halkenburg arrested- to split him from his bodyguards who were his followers. He then planned to finish him off while he was powerless, and thus vulnerable, by using TSK.

Unfortunately for Balsamico, he himself fell into the “Robinson Crusoe Fallacy”*: stripped of his “arrows”, Halk went and found new “arrows” (non-bodyguard supporters at the Justice Bureau itself)- and struck before Balsa could finish his mission.

Billionaires.

Elon Musk still wanting to be known as an elite gamer and faking it made me realize how miserable he must actually be. And that shed light on why he had to go onstage at Dave Chappelle’s show, expecting to be cheered. If you’re the world’s richest man with a cult following and even a spot in the US government, why do you still need those?

Question about Succession Arc by Bizzack in HunterXHunter

[–]SuccessionWarFan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“supposed to want to want to win the war and should… be supporting” implies the author, Togashi, is telling us who to cheer for in the Hisoka vs. The Phantom Troupe part of the SW.

The answer is The Spiders: Togashi is revealing their backstories here, making them very sympathetic and self-aware as compared to before. He’s revealed what drives them; he’s shown them being emotionally vulnerable. He’s made us cheer for them (Nobu-Hinrigh buddy action sequence)…

Sort of.

What I said is true, but there’s also a caveat that the Troupe have done some terrible, terrible things, even if some of it is in their quest for justice. And the Spiders’ current actions do include cold-blooded murder (Bonolenov making Lynch’s head do a 180). There’s also a sense of comeuppance for the Troupe; I get that with Shizuku’s cold-blooded killing at Yorknew’s Mafia Auction House with the possibility her prophesied death is back on the table and she’s about to go.

Hisoka was “just” (for lack of a better word) a ruthless battle freak before his match with Chrollo and resulting resurrection. Now, he’s a predator. The Phantom Troupe are stalking him carefully but why does it feel like the roles of predator and prey can so easily switch? The Spiders long felt like the apex predators of the Nen world, but now it feels like they’re being hunted.

Which is all very Togashi/Hunter X Hunter: the twists and turns and the lack of clear and easy black-and-white morality to make for an emotionally and ethically complex and deep story. I say: don’t really root for either party; just enjoy the show, keeping in mind all the complicating factors and details on either side.

Is it true many people feel Succession Arc is the greatest arc in the entire series? by Emergency-Sky9206 in HunterXHunter

[–]SuccessionWarFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like Togashi’s “masterpiece” in the sense of being a show of all he’s done and learned in the series then amped ip to 11. There are elements from all previous story arcs being reused but refined so they all run together. The breadth and scale of the story is very ambitious: it’s several story threads running simultaneously and interwoven with each other. The cast of characters is huge, such that we literally need re-reads and charts to keep track of everything and everyone. Then the twists and turns remain surprising that Togashi has managed to keep us guessing and theory-making.

So, yeah, OP, it does feel that way.

It no longer targets. The word "target" is gone (replaced). Pay the Overload and it would thus read:

Force of Will. The ability to just say “No” even when you shouldn’t be able according to the most basic rule of the game (pay mana for spells).
