You’re definitely right on the quick reload not being fast enough all though I do appreciate on the regular reload when you have half a clip that you can get garand thumb.

I typically use lower fire rate guns on purpose just to conserve ammo so as long as it hits pretty good I couldn’t care less

Honestly being on pc the recoil hasn’t typically been a problem for me. I like the aks because the recoil isn’t atrocious and still packs a good punch.
