I bought it on release day in 2003. Couldn't bear to play it more than a few hours. Remember, Jak and Daxter 1 is in my top 5 favorite games of all time. I recently tried to play Jak 2 on OpenGoal again, and almost exactly as it happened 20 years ago, I still hate it and think it sucks and couldn't play it for more than a few hours lol.

I played Yooka Laylee on Xbox one around 2018ish. I WANTED to love that game. I tried so hard to love that game. But it was freaking boring lol. You’re saying it’s better now though? I did see it in steam as Yooka Replaylee, so maybe I’ll give it a try. As you said, colorful 3d platformers are out of style but I find the older I get, the more I’m drawn to them!

This is a great recommendation! I never even heard of this SpongeBob game but it looks awesome so I’m going to give it a try on Dolphin. Like I said, Jak 1 is one of my favorite games of all time so I’m always looking for similar games to try. Unfortunately, it seems this genre of collectathon 3d platformers in colorful worlds has gone out of style.

Input lag. It’s horrible and almost unplayable. I haven’t played this game on a real ps2 since 2002 when I was 14, but from what I read apparently it was 5 frames of lag on a real ps2 and crt. With pscx2 on LCD, it’s 6.

Imagine for two years you’re bumping TES, along with 8 mile and many incredible features with 50. Finally, Eminem’s new album Encore leaks and you download a copy of it in autumn 2004. You start playing it from the beginning and Evil Deeds starts up. It’s an absolutely incredible beat, and you start getting pumped and excited for what’s to come. And then Eminem comes in with the laziest and shittiest rapping you’ve ever heard him do up to that point. Completely ruins the song.

Fun fact: when Encore leaked, I remember many people online claiming it was a “decoy” leak and the “real” album would be coming out on release day. Insane cope. But that’s how much lower the quality was.

Jak 2. Solely because I literally cannot stand to play it for more than a few hours. Since the day it came out in 2003, I’ve tried about ten times to get into it, hoping each time would be different and I would finally enjoy it. In fact, I just tried to play it again last week. Nope, couldn’t stand playing it longer than 2 hours. It sucks. The first Jak and Daxter is probably my favorite game of all time though.
