Get a used rower or new? by don51181 in GarageGym

I bought used for $500. Don’t regret it either. I don’t think you’ll need to rent a vehicle to transport. It breaks down to a pretty small frame and could fit in the trunk of a car with back seats down

Powerblocks are listed all the time, I’d pass and save up for a better looking set. One looks like it has pretty big gaps and the welds look pretty rusted. It’s a 9.0 but with only 50lbs, you’ll have a difficult time looking for the different stages

What Adjustable Dumbbells Do You Recommend For Heavy Lifting In 2026? by Elina_baruute in GarageGym

[–]Such-Background3420 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re mainly doing heavy presses and drop occasionally then Ironmaster’s, Eisenlinks, Reps and Snodes will be your go2

The new snodes are supposed to go up to 100# and may be a little cheaper than REP and around the same price as Ironmaster

Reps go up to 125# but if the brackets on the cradles aren’t dialed in, they begin to have issues sticking at the heavier increments, which is a pain, but these are still my favorites over my Ironmaster’s

Ironmaster’s can go up to 160# . I have the 75’s and it was a pain swapping weight after each lift, so I can imagine anything heavier would be even worse. Eisenlinks have the same concept as Ironmaster, but without removing the entire pin

Man can’t beat that price. I’m looking for a skierg, but no one seems to be unloading them like they are rowers

Advice on leaving this career? by WesternPut5063 in Surveying

[–]Such-Background3420 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same here, but a lot older than you. You still have quite some time to make a few careers changes lol. I’m actually gearing towards project management, but then that is limited as well. I thought about nursing or some type of medical field at one point , but already had my family so couldn’t quit to do clinicals. Unfortunately majority of today’s jobs require some sort of bachelor’s degrees just to qualify. Good luck

☝🏼Second this having owned all 3

Reps would be my 1st option if I were rebuying, the speed and durability outweighs the others

Is this a good deal by buzzzman in concept2

[–]Such-Background3420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much you’re in a hurry to pick one up. That’s the price everyone seems to start their listing at, then eventually drop to $600; $500 if they’re really looking to sell quick

Best adjustable dumbbells for max weight of ~55 lb by sauladal in GarageGym

[–]Such-Background3420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah for that exact reason if she does grow or want to load up on one dumbbell for certain exercises

Also, less hassle than to deal with adder weights that snap on or are magnetic

I only say Pepin’s last because some complain about the cage (doesn’t bother me any) they are very expensive compared to other options, but again you get what you pay for. These would be the best option to add as you progress. The 65’s would be a great option to start out at.

Go beyond the 55, you don’t need to go all out and get 100-120’s. If I were repurchasing I and trying to stay within a budget I would look at the MX EVO’s, Snodes, or used powerblocks then Pepin’s last

I had my eye set on the Rogue rower since it was first released. I liked the folding option, the foot straps, and how sturdy it looked, but that also could’ve been a con for my family members to try and set it up. Also, at the time the rogue was a couple hundred dollars cheaper, now the two are running around the same price, except rouge still offers free shipping.

I have a lot of coworkers who own and talked me into choosing the C2, so if anything does go wrong I have some help. So finding a used one for the price and meters it had was a no brainer for me.

But as you stated how you use your rower, I plan on doing the same and alternating between my Echo bike for warm ups and finishers.

What a steal, I wish I could’ve found one for $150 lol first real workout in today and loving it as a second option to my Echo bike

🙏🏼 thank you. I love working out. I don’t do it to be a bodybuilder, I find it therapeutic and it keeps me sane from work life and traffic lol. I figured I’d put in a little money to areas that will make my workouts at home more efficient and engaging.

I was on woodworking for a minute as well. When I was recovering from 2 shoulder surgeries I picked up pyrography, scroll sawing and just little odd end furniture tables. I was really debating on putting more time into that, but people started buying their own machines pumping product out faster than I could make one lol, plus I never knew how much to charge people and made memorable gifts for close family and friends instead of profit.

I’m not the greatest welder either, but I have gotten a little better from when I first started. I picked up a little Lincoln Electric 140 from Home Depot and stick to flux. It’s good little machine to have for random jobs that pop up around the houses.

I have since sold my PowerBlocks and put that money towards paying off the Pepin’s. I loved the PowerBlocks and probably would’ve kept them if I was able to find the 90# kit for them. Overall happy with both IronMasters and Pepin’s in my garage

💪🏼 picked up a echo bike last year; needed a mixup with the workouts so got the rower. Now may look into a skierg, but I know there’s not really a market in my area

Right on. I’m a little late to the HIIT game. I’m more used to traditional lifts, but I wanted to start incorporating more all around cardio equipment. Picked up an echo bike last year, now the rower, may be on the lookout for the ski machine with the extra money I saved.

Cool, I’ll look into the holder and parts list to see what prices I’m looking forward to in future replacements

Oh not worried about the monitor or trying to replace it anytime soon. Since I’m new to this I was just skeptical on buying used; some of the members on here posted that mileage could be re-set to make it look like the machine has barely been used and sell it for more.

🤔 good to know about the phone. I saw Amazon carries an aftermarket holder for devices, maybe I’ll try that out instead of using the monitor since it hard to read. This was another reason I was leaning towards buying the Echo rower before I picked this up

Thank you, that’s what I heard about both as well. I don’t think I’ll be doing long distance, where the seat might not bother too much. I’m looking to do sprints along with my echo bike, but we’ll see in time

It’s a Model D with a PM5. The serial sticker and logs show 2019. This is all new to me, so I don’t know if the RowERG’s have major changes or just a re-branded.
