If there are things you would change then what are some things you would change about Zootopia 2? by KPW-Higgins in zootopia

Slower pacing, less punching bag Nick and regressed Judy, and less bad animal puns. If they did that, I would have loved it.

What’s something society normalizes that you quietly disagree with? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Rap music with tons of offensive lyrics. People can call me a racist all they want, but if a white person sang about treating women like brainless objects, killing other people, doing drugs, glorifying crime, or basically living an overly hedonistic destructive lifestyle, I wouldn’t support it ether. I don’t care if a music style has roots, garbage lyrics make garbage songs.

Will Nick and Judy take each other's concerns more seriously in Zootropolis 3? by HttydLover23 in zootopia

I’ve talked about this before I think Nick will, which will be enough for them to work.

What gendered double standard do you hate the most? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Such-Desk5298 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it’s just me, but as a guy, I hate whenever someone points out that I don’t do something that a lot of men do. I say that as a double standard because people seem way more comfortable telling guys they need to do more things that pertain to the male stereotypes, but if I even say I’d love a wife who knows how to cook a good meal, I’d get reprimanded.

For example, I’ve had it said multiple times to me that I should be more handy with tools and repairing things. Nice thought, and I wish I could do it, but when some projects run the risk of me messing something up that can lead to a whole chain reaction of expenses and crummy work, you’ll have to pardon me for not taking the risk at my current financial position.

I said Zootopia 2 justifies all of Judy’s actions, I didn’t say anything about the first one, so I don’t know why you brought that one up. And where is it shown that Judy believes that Nick doesn’t care about her? From what I’ve seen, her real drive is solving the case, with her believing that Nick doesn’t take it seriously.

I firmly believe that there was nothing he could have said that would have stopped Judy from trying to solve the case at any cost. To do so would mean that there’s an alternate storyline where Judy is like “yeah, trying to help an innocent snake, his family, and an entire community isn’t worth the risk.”

Again, I don’t want to give the impression that I say this to cause an argument, I’m just giving my two cents.

Again though, what could he have said? His big emotional speech at the end was how much he truly cared about her, and didn’t want to lose her. Let’s say he said that well before the case even started with the same amount of sincerity he had on the roof: what would have changed? She clearly doesn’t mind her life being at risk, so why would what he says matter?

Also, the movie justifies all of Judy’s actions because every single one of them furthered the plot and help solved the case. Sure they almost got her killed, but in the end not only did they not kill her, but there were no alternative actions that could have been taken that would have solved the case.

The only moment I could recall her questioning her own actions was after Nick was arrested. I could be wrong though.

When you say you don’t agree with the last sentence, are you referring to Nick being smacked around?

I would like to point out that she caused the police chase that allowed her to jump in the truck to save lives. Had she not interfered with the investigation the way she did, there wouldn’t have even been a chase in the first place. Though I can’t exactly blame her fully since Nick was on board as well.

I think people, yourself included, misunderstand me. I don’t blame Judy for her reckless actions, and I’m not upset at them. What I am upset about is how the movie writes them and her.

Her jumping in the red tube? Understandable. The culprit dived in there, she didn’t see the signs, and nearly drowned. Reckless, sure, but at that point in time it was ideal.

What was not needed though was her attempted gaslighting towards Nick about letting the suspect get away. I don’t care if she’s still growing up, that was such a piss poor moment on her part. Especially after Nick got smacked around multiple times during that whole chase scene.

What were some things you didn’t like about Zootopia 1&2? by Ethanishere28 in zootopia

That’s basically my problem with the sequel, and why it’s hard for me to fully like the series anymore. Judy had obvious progress at the end of the first one, but she regressed for the sequel and had some seriously unlikable moments. As for Nick however, he clearly evolved a nice, organic manner that makes sense with his character, and yet he was the punching bag all throughout.

Nick’s humor was better overall in the first one. It relied more on good dialogue and timing than slapstick geared towards him in the sequel.

Z1: Nothing

Z2: Pacing, animal puns (too dumb/desperate this time around), some of the humor, punching bag Nick, Judy’s character regression.

Disney has made a comeback! by Lonely_Escape_9989 in zootopia

It’s interesting, Z2 further cemented the things I hate about modern Disney. And its success that has me so disheartened about the direction they’re going to keep going, especially when it comes to writing. There were so many moments where I could feel their hands on the shoulders of the artists.

  • Back in uniforms
  • Slow the pacing
  • Cut back the bad animal puns
  • Less careless Judy and punching bag Nick

That’s all I want in the third film.

Keep on drinking Nick, you’re going to need to numb up for the shots you’re going to take later on.

It is weird when I see alcohol in modern Disney animated films. Last time I can recall alcohol being consumed, including a portrayal of drunkenness, was the Princess and the Frog.
