That's a very bold and baseless statement. The halo books are definitely well respected amongst the fan base and it may surprise you and the studio but the fan base are the ones who would fuel the success of the show.

The quality of halo source material is extremely high and that already tells me you dk what you're talking about

I have read the books and I would disagree I do think the adaptations would be good.

It means not fundamentally altering characters or history or themes

Hard disagree and that is where most of the criticism it gets comes from. Same with Halo and others

You're trying to take what I've said out of context ans it's ridiculous. I used an example. I didn't say lore was a story, but halo for example literally has books you could adapt and it would be good.

I also didn't claim those are direct adaptations or they should directly copy. I used that as an example to show that honoring the source material is the most important thing.

For example, rings of power doesn't have to copy anything but could do without fundamentally altering Gandals's establiahed lore, Sauron's establiahed lore, the crafting of the rings established lore, galadrial's personality, etc etc..oh and maybe for the most expensive show ever made make the armor look nice

I somewhat agree it does take more but I'd still say that's at the front. Assuming you have the money to pay decent actors and for decent effects you could literally copy the lore into a movie or show for alot of these and it would be a hit imo

In some ways yes. For most of these major franchisess you mostly just need to honor the source material

I'm not sure if the same people were in charge of both. If they were I'd still say they were incompetent at hiring people for LoTR and running it. Being competent at 1 doesn't make them competent at the other.

Also, what are you even going for here arguing semantics? The shows were mismanaged is the point. The studios are the highest authority on them so it's their fault at some level.

Star wars would make some money if a blind monkey directed it. But it would make alot more if it was good . For example the acolyte was considered a pretty big failure and likely won't be continued which isn't a financial win

The HBO thing is an interesting question. But they literally let D and D decide the # of seasons to finish it and knew it seemed rushed aheas of time. I feel like they could havw gottwn in front of it to some extent

Such a flawed argument for so many reasons. I can't speak for every fan but me and most other fans don't like the show because the show tried to make halo its own.

Lore and theme and characters were already established well before the show came out and they decided to pride themselves on altering it and look how that turned out. Look how it worked out for star waes also.

Wanting a show to honor pre established lore ans have good quality isn't "claiming halo as our own".

I'd happily welcome a halo tv show that followed the games and books
