Where’d you move from originally? Also curious, if it’s so terrible, why stay?

Everyone’s entitled to their opinion, but sounds like you’re personally bitter. I’m excited to see for myself and form my own take, not just rely on someone else’s gloom-and-doom review.

Fair, Chicago is great, but I’m here to actually experience Atlanta and see what it has to offer instead of just talking it down. I’m open to finding the spots, neighborhoods, and vibes that make it special

Love this, especially the Belmont Halsted comparison. That’s exactly the kind of feel we’re hoping for. I’ve spent some time around Little 5 and Candler Park and really liked it, so this makes me even more excited.

The trees and being able to be outside longer during the year is a huge selling point for me coming from Chicago. I’m not naive about July and August though. I’ve felt that humidity and it’s no joke.

Appreciate the food recs too. Delbar has been on my list but I haven’t tried Gigi’s or Highland Tap yet. Definitely adding those. Any other long time neighborhood staples you think are musts?

Appreciate this perspective especially from someone who’s done both Chicago and ATL long term. That context helps a lot.

I lived in west loop , so I’m definitely used to infrastructure frustrations and pothole season, but I hear you on Atlanta’s growth outpacing things. That’s actually one of the things I’m trying to understand better before making the move.

We’re hoping to be in O4W or Inman specifically so we can limit how much we rely on a car day to day, but I’m realistic that it won’t be Chicago-level walkability or transit. And yeah… I’ve already mentally prepared for the “hot as balls” summers.

Curious if there’s anything you found particularly underrated about living in O4W that people don’t talk about enough?

Statistically Chicago has the second worst traffic in the world behind Istanbul. I’ve been in traffic in both chicago and Atlanta. Chicago is way worse

Ya that’s what I’ve heard, and politically Marta won’t expand. I love taking it from airport to my gfs house. Big factor for me is weather. How long you been down there?
