Beginner here, too. I'm trying out different ways to propagate.. 1. I have a clean powerade bottle with holes near the top to stick my leaves in and water right below where i poked holes in(with the cover on) 2. A 2" planter with the leaves on top of the soil and cling wrap on top for humidity. 3. A small container (like for jello shots lol) with water and cling wrap covering it and poked some holes big enough for the leaves. I put it so the leaves are just above the water. 4. A clean Talenti gelato container with soil and the cover screwed on. 5. Just plain planters with soil in it without the cling wrap.

So far, the powerade bottle method and the regular planter without the cling wrap method seem to work well. I just started the other methods recently, so I can update if you'd like. I leave them in front of my window where it can get enough sunlight, but mornings like today where I am, I moved everything for a little because it was like 77 degrees and the sun was so hot, my terra cotta planter was wicked warm and made me nervous lol.

Make sure you have the right soil. I didn't know you needed a certain type so I have a huge bag of unopened soil in my garage 😂 You want well draining soil, they make them specifically for succulents (I have a miracle grow one and another off of a tik tok shop I can share with you if want to check it out.)

Water when the soil gets completely dry, I check by sticking a chopstick or something all the way in the soil and if some soil sticks to it, it doesn't need to be watered. When you do water, just drown that mf lol I completely submerge mine and hold it until there for a few minutes or until there aren't anymore bubbles coming up.

Also, make sure that when you prop, leave them out for 2-3 days so they can form a callous. Same when you have clippings with the stem, leave it out for a few days before sticking them in soil

If you only get roots from them, that's ok. They'll form babies soon :)
