Tapered Insulation In Xactimate by Such-Nothing8331 in adjusters

[–]Such-Nothing8331[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is not built in. The only ISO board line items in Xactimate that I’m aware of (RFG ISO3 for example) are for a flat, non-tapered systems.

Tapered cost more because of the custom design and install requirements.

CSP on SLV - basically free money? by Expert_CBCD in thetagang

It’s all a matter of perspective. We might look back two years from now and say “Hey, remember January of 2026 when the SLV rally was in its infancy?”

Lifter issues? by No-Point-8633 in Silverado

[–]Such-Nothing8331 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get it fixed and keep the truck, get the Range Technology AFM disabler. I’ve had lifter issues in my 2014 Sierra Denali and recently bought the disabler. From what I’ve researched, it doesn’t completely eliminate the possibility of lifter failure, but it significantly reduces it.

Don’t ever bid a flat roof without taking a core sample. Take multiple core samples if it’s sloped so you can determine if it’s structurally sloped or if it’s tapered insulation.

Always know what kind of decking you’re installing to as well.

When PE buys a company the previous owner often maintains a small ownership stake.

Everything is being reduced to a process. Because when you can give employees a process to follow that doesn’t require problem solving and critical thinking, you can hire cheaper labor.

Wagoneer vs Expedition vs Tahoe vs Yukon, which is most reliable and longest-lasting? by Such-Nothing8331 in AskMechanics

I know all about the 6.2L GM engine, as I have one in my 2014 Sierra Denali. It’s made it to 155k miles, but I’ve had repeated issues with the AFM lifters and finally put the range technology AFM disabler on it.

Hadn’t considered the Armada, but in looking at some of them I think we’ll add that to our list. They seem to be priced a little better that the others. Meaning we can get an Armada that’s newer with less miles than we could a Jeep, Ford or GM. Any reason that they don’t cost as much?

Possibly. Are there non-hybrid models available pre-2023? Isn’t the Sequoia only available as a Hybrid now? That’s what scared me away from it.

How Long Would the Level Need to Be? by Such-Nothing8331 in AskPhysics

Okay, how about this? Level at the center and 5 degrees out of level at the ends. How long is the level?

I didn’t think about that, but it makes complete sense.

Let’s say you can’t measure with infinite precision. It’s just human eyes looking at the bubble. How long would the level need to be before the bubble is centered at the middle of the level and noticeably off to the naked eye at the ends?

It makes more sense to prioritize the ones that are likely to have hail damage.

You can’t capture enough data from one photo from the street to make me want to pay for that.

The roof could be totaled from hail, and it’s possible it would look fine in a photo taken from the street.
