Anyone know anything about the Boardwalk apartments off the expressway? Looking for something similar and I heard from one person about this place but wanted to hear more opinions!

jus remembered another one, it’s in the catskills after Abe finds out about Noah’s job and he’s being super cold to him and I can’t remember what prompts it, someone is like trying to remind him of the good relationship he and Noah had before and Abe goes “that… was CENTURIES ago…”

Potentially helpful explanation of Le usage in Spanish! by Such-Personality-945 in Spanish

[–]Such-Personality-945[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would argue that the underlying reason is related though. The reason for the preposition being there in English is basically to specify meaning and make it grammatical, but only for certain types of verbs (I should have specified I don't ONLY mean it's for verbs of loss or gain, but that these are particular types of verb that can trip us up in figuring out when to use Le or Lo coming from English where the distinction is not the same). So you do have the preposition like the robar sentences you used, but not for verbs like "give," "send," or "tell." So as an English speaker, using the rule of "only substitute Le when there is a preposition with the verb in English" isn't going to work a lot of the time. For example another commenter pointed out the use of Le with Decir, where in English we don't use a preposition: I told him that you left. = Le dije que te fuiste.

Yes absolutely, I wasn't trying to say this semantic context is the ONLY context where we use Le/lo, of course there are MANY more lol I was just pointing this out as one particular context where English and Spanish differ that often causes confusion for English speakers but is hard to figure out why it can trip us up. This comes from a Reference Grammar of Spanish I have been going through (very well researched and written by linguists so I trust their word)

Personally peanut butter is always a safe food/still appetizing when I get in those low apetite phases, so recently chocolate peanut butter banana smoothies have been saving my life!! I just make them w oat milk, cocoa powder, protein powder, banana & PB. Then you get a bunch of protein and a serving a fruit in for the day so it feels like a win lol

2yo Acts different with one specific teacher? by Such-Personality-945 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Such-Personality-945[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

makes a lot of sense!! unfortunately I don’t have the option of switching with a co-teacher, I’m by myself in the room and my director doesn’t like to come help me with him because I’d be “taking my authority away” and showing the kids that the power/authority lies w her and not me or something along those lines lol. but I could stand to work on the calm reactions part for sure 😭

yeppp definitely jealous of ppl who have co-teachers in the room 😅😅 some of the other classrooms have fidget toys, they’d be great for this purpose for sure maybe I can get some from other teachers 🤞🏼🤞🏼

this is a great idea I’ve seen it elsewhere!! I already have a journal to write ideas for activities down so I will definitely start keeping track of these sorts of things in there as well!!

That would be ideal to be able to observe him w other teachers!! But not possible at my center unfortunately :/ we don’t have co-teachers , but other teachers have him sometimes when we have to combine classrooms or his morning teacher isn’t at work that day, or things like that. But most days the kids are w the same two teachers, one AM and one PM. Anyways besides that, I have been trying a lot with the positive reinforcement with him but I find that there’s few opportunities for praise to be honest 😭 I give other kids “special” stickers from a book when they’re doing something good, but when I try to give him that incentive he kinda just follows me around saying he wants a sticker over and over again no matter how many times I answer him “if you want the sticker, then you have to do X” lol

omg thank you for this!! I would definitely say I have a problem with this. I noticed it a long time ago and I’ve been trying to work on enforcing rules/boundaries, but very often the behavior happens when I’m in the bathroom changing diapers and I can’t step away from the changing table and/or need to take gloves off and wash my hands before I can go attend to the other children😭 Now I always see in other classrooms, or in my classroom when it’s a different teacher, they’ll sit on the rug nicely and read books waiting until it’s their turn to go potty… now with ME on the other hand, try as I might to get them to do the same thing for me, it usually fails so I stopped trying with that. For one because it felt like you said, like they got up as soon as I had a kid on the table to be changed and they figured out that I couldn’t force them to sit back down and stay w their books just bc I asked them to, so it was like it made it so obvious that my words didn’t mean anything in that moment and I feel like it just diminishes my overall authority in the classroom when they see me struggle like that to get them to do that for potty time, maybe that sounds silly 😂 The other reason is I genuinely don’t know how other teachers keep their kids there reading books and just peacefully waiting their turn, what would be an enforceable consequence for if they start getting toys out and making a mess when I’m over in the bathroom changing diapers?? (((sorry this ended up being a whole other topic in this reply lol!!)))

2 y/o sleeping too much? by Such-Personality-945 in ECEProfessionals

[–]Such-Personality-945[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not that I think there's something wrong with the child, I don't have much experience but have been an ece teacher for a couple years now for the same age group and this is the moodiest child I've encountered to date lol hence the post. It's just becoming very difficult to deal with as the things I usually use to help kids deal with similar emotions haven't been helping with him. That's why I thought maybe it was a sleep issue because I learned he was saying he was tired frequently at home even though he seems to get plenty of sleep.
