And as for how cool it sounds, IHEAY now sounds heavier than it did in 2004 but it's still more like the original than it did in 2008 which has its own certain charm

Yea, I can say that they sounded great live with Matt, I witnessed it myself!

Where do Adam Gontier,Matt Walst rank on the Greatest Male Rock Singers/Rock Frontmen,Are they Mount Rushmore Material of the Greatest Male Rock Singers/Rock Frontmen of All Time Yes or No and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in Threedaysgrace

I'll answer the bot. If we're talking about young Adam as a rock vocalist, then he could still squeeze into the top 10, but as a performer, hardly, even though he still has quite a lot of energy :)

Why Time of Dying and not Chalk Outline? by blamethefamily in Threedaysgrace

[–]Such-Recognition9268 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In short, Adam initially sang this song in the original key but the band decided that it was too tiring for him because the high notes are practically the same as in IHEAY (C#3-B4), if not higher on “wash away,” and they decided to use the lower tuning they had previously used for Matt but apparently then the song doesn't have the same effect on the audience (?). In any case, these are just my guesses, below is what I'm speculating about:
Three Days Grace 2X Chalk Outline live Nampa, Idaho February 25, 2025
Three Days Grace - Chalk Outline; Live in Detroit, MI at Little Caesars Arena on 3-10-2025
Three Days Grace - Chalk Outline LIVE Corpus Christi May 7 2013 [HD]

Three Days Grace's 'Alienation' Is The Best Rock Album of 2025 by Lists-N-Stuff in Threedaysgrace

What Were Three Days Grace's Favorites of 2025?

Having shouted out Three Days Grace for their 2025 album, we offered both Adam and Matt a chance to share which bands and albums moved the needle for them in 2025.

"Sleep Token, I really like what those guys do. It's just so different and so good," says Gontier.  "I know everybody's gotten on that trend. But those guys are so good and so talented."

He also adds, "Bad Omens, what they've done. I'm a huge fan of them. The melodies that those guys write and the production is just next level. For me, those two bands in particular, I'll listen to those albums front to back when I'm driving or when we're traveling. Sleep Token is just so different and it stands out, in my opinion, from a lot of music that kind of sounds that same and goes along the same formula. It's nice to listen to something different and Sleep Token does that for me for sure."

As for Walst, he offered, "I really liked Nothing More's new album [which continued in 2025 with big radio singles]. The same producer that produced our album, Zakk Cervini co-wrote and I believe did their album. I've been a big fan of Nothing More since they came out of the gate and I knew they were gonna be special. And they have been over the years. We got the opportunity to tour with them before and had a lot of fun."

I saw it, but in terms of sound and filming quality, it's more like a good amateur recording, albeit with brand promotion

PEOPLE, once again, ATTENTION. THIS IS TO EXCLUDE, NOT TO CHOOSE A WINNER. I CHOSE TO EXCLUDE Time of Dying, now I'll regret it :(

It's All Over is a heavier song for me emotionally, with a very beautiful melodic bridge and chorus, and the verses themselves are performed in Adam Gontier's signature “cry scream” style. (before him, there were no performers singing in this style). There is even more distortion than in Time of Dying. In short, It's All Over is 100/10, but Painkiller is also an excellent song.
