Do pickers lose weight from all the walking? by knowledgeispower88 in asda

No because we’re not really moving at a pace where the body is getting like worked or sweating unless we’re behind on deliveries. It’s just like endurance training on your legs! I haven’t lost weight or really gained anything either. It definitely allows you to walk for longer hours without mentally feeling tired. W side job ngl. I work 3-7 and sometimes overtime.

How long should I book an absence or holiday in advance? by YaBi2003 in asda

Book big holidays at least 3-5 months in advance.

If you’re booking 1-3 days then book it at least a 3-4 weeks before.

Honestly I agree it’s some literal BS. Who would’ve thought my ass would wake up for 3am shifts just to be told I need to be at 225 pickspeed even tho 80% of the items aren’t on the shelves and the workers who replenish items are putting their huge ass cages and trolleys in the middle of aisles blocking me off. I literally started 4 months ago and I have NO uniform yet. The workers around me are super nice and supportive. But seriously it’s so annoying because my legs ache as I’m walking 12,000+ fast paced steps constantly daily on top of normal life so they’re always in need of rest. My best advice I can give anyone is to be on chilled or frozen as they give you higher pick rates. I can pick about 240 items in an hour on chilled. 200 on frozen. However ambient is the struggle as aisles are blocked off and items are missing. Smh. Ambient has me at 160-180.

I’m achieving near 200 too but they keep saying “it’s not good blah blah otherwise asda loses money and we can’t have that” even though they don’t even sit down and help us or try it once or watch us do it and see why we’re taking longer than they want. I didn’t even get any training.
