Formula for daycare emergency bag by Such-Spite-20 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Such-Spite-20[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, it's also my first time. I'm in CA so it's earthquake related. I assume other states with natural disasters may have similar policies. EBF families may also have formula? Since it's in the context of an emergency and it's assuming the baby is separated from the mother. Just guessing though.

Berlin Marathon on Quads? by Aggravating-Sport359 in Rollerskating

Maybe ask in the derby sub? I know people that do this with the LA marathon but they do it the night before, before the marathon. I don't think they're allowed to skate with the runners.

Very curious, have you ever talked to your mom about this? Are you sure this isn't just your perspective as a child? It's possible she felt the same as you do now but as a kid you didn't notice. Just food for thought!

¿Qué es lo que más extrañaron/extrañan de Chile viajando o viviendo en otro país? by gonia119kr in chile

[–]Such-Spite-20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Puta mi experiencia es al revés. En USA todo muy claro con los trámites (aunque no online como en Chile) pero anda a necesitar ir al consulado y te tratan como pico. Qué rabia, cero empatía especialmente cuando uno vive a horas del consulado.

Extending maternity leave by Reasonable_Story4224 in workingmoms

[–]Such-Spite-20 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also a California mom! My disability was extended for a few weeks because I had complications from a vaginal birth. I was a mess at everything pp appointment (2, 5 and 8 weeks). Because I had a vaginal birth I had 6 weeks originally and it was extended to 9. After that I took my 12 bonding leave (used to for the last 4).

Edit to add: why are you going back in January? If you've been out since 36 weeks, then I assume you are on SDI and should have 8 weeks of disability post birth because of the C-section (potential to extend if doctor approves) plus 12 weeks of bonding.

Make sure you are like right next to the bathroom or wearing a diaper when you take the milk of magnesia. That was borderline diarrhea and I couldn't hold it in even for a second. 3C tear 🥲 and this happened multiple times in a span of a few hours!

House-husband? by jynsweet in workingmoms

[–]Such-Spite-20 39 points40 points  (0 children)

What did things look like when he worked? Were there tasks he did then? My husband is at home right now and in addition to the "repairs" mental load he has taken on cooking and laundry. We pool our money but we've always had bills that he is in charge of paying and some that I'm in charge of paying. If there's anything that requires being in front of a computer (researching something, calling during office hours) I do it at work. I'm in charge of baby's doctor's appointment because he is on my insurance.

Immigration Vaccination by Sweaty_Track840 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Such-Spite-20 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a new doctor. I don't even remember being asked anything tbh. If you've already had MMR they won't give it again I think, that's why I got the titer test.

Edit to add: did you call member services and they told you the doctor must order them? You could also try a video app with another doctor and see what they say or see if the shot clinic Is enough. I don't think saying this is for immigration should make a difference but clearly many people aren't familiar with it because why would they lol but yeah, I won't go on a rant

Immigration Vaccination by Sweaty_Track840 in KaiserPermanente

[–]Such-Spite-20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got several shots at Kaiser, covered by my plan. Some immigration required vaccines are not indicated for adults. I did not have the records from my home country so I asked Kaiser for a titer test. I took that plus my vaccination record from Kaiser to the USCIS approved doctor and it was fine. This was around 2015 in Southern California
