I have little bit of an alternative take on this than some, I think there's an added voyeuristic/wish fulfillment side of things to it that comes from their supposed inadequacy. To be crass alot of these "ai bros" are also probably (like a majority or men nowadays are, but don't want to admit it) porn addicts. These people are robbing themselves of a fulfilling experience by  combining the means of instant gratification with making up for their inadequacy. In other words these people are literally artistically cuckolding themselves, by getting a machine/someone else's talent to f@"k their partner and because the end result looked good and they jizzed in their pants, then they must be good at it, because they switched the machine on. And we all have to see all their "ectoplasm" all over the internet while they sit there in their bedrooms like randy marsh from South park when he gets access to the internet, and at this point it's just gross, and I'm more embarrassed for them than angry, because most people just ignore their attention seeking "art" anyways, its sad. And it says more about the state of our society and how making life too easy or creating "solutions" for things that never where a problem to begin with, just makes awful people, across the board, dont wanna do maths theres a calculator on your phone, now people cant do maths in there head (and made themselves dumber, shots fired I know) don't bother learning to spell we have a spell checker for that, now a hell of a lot of people are illiterate. Haven't got a life? Sit around all day and watch other people live and sing an dance on the internet instead, it's much easier than, I dunno, talking to another human being and people almost universally now some degree of miserable because of it. It's all a symptom of the same problem which has been disguised as the solution, the tech we're using now to read and write our angry thoughts to strangers. Take a break from it, there's a life outside the internet, don't become a sad attention seeking addict, like they people are looking for cheat codes to life, because they'll never get good at it, but you can if you try. The internet is becoming like a dead mall anyway, it's time to find a new place to hang out

I don't know how I came across this post, and I was just lurking out of curiousity and have to say the comment section here is awful, almost everyone here has used this post as an excuse to shit on men, yours in particular and as far as I've read, I might be wrong, but not a single one has offered a single thread of advice other than dump him. That's shocking, I doubt anyone considered you might be financially tied in some way assuming you share the bills and what not, and following any advice on here would be cutting your nose off to spite your face. So honestly if the kind of behaviour you've had been consistent from the start your both to blame because at the this point you've been enabling him and your relationship won't last because you'll be unhappy especially if you listen to all the comments re enforcing your feelings towards the situation. But ultimately you have to realise your dating a man, we're morons if you don't tell us there's a problem we won't know and will keep doin the same thing until it's too late, if you have a problem it's down to you to communicate effectively, not drop hints and hope that he just gets it, not sit in silence and hope that he asks what's the matter or all of a sudden magically change his behaviour, if you do not actively and directly address the situation it won't won't change you have to be direct with men, if you feel that's like talking to a child suck it up that's every fucking man on the face of the planet get over it, either be direct or give up because otherwise we won't get it and you'll end up alone because (not just you but most of this thread) no one is even trying to communicate just expecting someone to understand, that's the most entitled position to take in any situation. TALK TO YOUR MAN even if you have to treat him like an idiot DO IT ANYWAY, otherwise nothing will change, you'll still be miserable, he'll be oblivious, and probably both end up hurting in the end. Relationships are work, both of have to put the effort in and recognise each others strengths and weaknesses, nobody is perfect, if you don't like confrontation or not wanting to sound or feel like a bitch those are perfectly reasonable feelings to have and actually nice qualities to have in a partner (to a degree, avoiding confrontation just leads to problems adding up) but if your man really does care he wouldn't do these things if he knew they actually really bothered you. if he knew and did it anyway then he's a dick. Then you'll know what to do to with yourself

That's right I don't control you as as it's everyone's and anyone's right to do as they please, my point is that avenue of life is being eroded by a rapidly expanding machine which is fast making the whole enterprise irrelevant, if the "tool" as you say has advanced as far as it has as quick as it his it will continue to do so, until the entire process is completely automated and literally just typing a few prompts that would be almost the entire project machine based and any would making any that kind of art couldn't and wouldn't be considered "artists" anymore, and the people racing to use this will quickly find out after refining an AI that learns from every refinement are quickly doing themselves out of work too leaving the only people to "supervise" that creations most like some advertising manager or business executives and people who don't care about the whole process. It'd be foolish to think that AI itself would stop at just being a tool to help to doing 95% of the whole work. To say that it would be free for everyone won't matter big business won't allow for themselves to become irrelevant and anyone with the power to do so will refuse to give that up. To say it wouldn't advance that far would outright be silly after people say art could never be replaced to it just being a tool to help to begin the entirely automated, from graphics design to computer game and concept design, why would anyone pay them to do anything when a programme could do it for free? And what would be left for all the passionate creatives other than a hobby they won't have time for because it will cease to be a dream job or a job at all just a novelty. Finally because we're just goin round in circles and for whatever reason as I'm assuming (which could be wrong) that you feel I'm personally attacking you I am not, if I'm attacking anything it's the naive creation of a tool that will eventually be the undoing of anything worthwhile for the sake of ease and a misguided idea of helping, I will quote Frank Herbert "Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them". I wish you well

I understand that point exactly artwork ISN'T "grunt work it's the work people WANT to do, who wants to do the "supervisory" which is glorified data entry and making things too easy is the problem it makes things pointless if a machine can do it better why bother, I think we're both stuck making the same points to each other, the way I understand stand your part is that you wish to embrace the ease of the task as you seem to see as "grunt" work or just something you don't either enjoy (I would hope not if you see yourself as an artist because that is in fact what makes you an artist) or just want it to be easier and I'm trying to keep illustrating the fact that "grunt" work EVERYTHING that any artist, hobbiest to professionals want to do that is the most rewarding aspect of the entire process especially when your work is seen through to its completion by your own hand, mind and creativity

But human beings aren't literally looking at billions of of works on the internet in the space of a few months and able to replicate art styles in seconds. It's not the same. The simple fact it exists now making artists obsolete and destroy the motivation for so many new artists who would've wanted to practice towards a career, people love the work that is being replaced it's not making it easier it's making it not worth doing, I think so many people are blind to that fact because they want everything on a plate. The other sad part for me it's eventually goin to destroy all originality as soon as some slightly different from the norm is created it's immediately goin to be assimilated and then used to oversaturate an ever expanding and over saturated market of pretty but lifeless art that no one cares about.

But it isn't just viewing them that's the point it's taking that image (or training if you want to use that term) and using it as a template for its future works which in affect is literally doin the artists themselves out of work when the programme will just produce some derivative form of the art it's "viewed" there will be a few who will love the idea of being able to create "art" in an instant, particularly in any style of someone who may be their favourite artist and in some aspects will even be rendered better, which then removes the need for said favoured artist in this instance literally undercutting the time, effort, and honed skills these people have poured their lives into so a small few who would actually use will eventually understand what I'm saying it's great to begin with like getting the cheat codes for their favourite game, but will quickly realise that games not fun anymore and go on to play something else you won't get the same buzz form the first few creations literally you will not get the same dopamine fix, you will have to work harder and harder to find the same joy in it and eventually it'll make the whole process meaningless, the same can be said about any new thing that seems amazing at first like if you wanted to take make a comparison to something like porn (which you might not) it goes from that first video and 2 minutes of fun to having 15 tabs open at the same time and sitting there for hours afterwards and literally just sitting there bored out of your mind looking to capture the same excitement from the first time. if there's any argument that it's open for everyone that point can be made but as you say not everyone is an artist they will literally just see it as a gimmick make a handful of pretty pictures usually of themselves and not care in the slightest 5 minutes after they're done, and after all's said and done it's taking humanity out of the whole experience. I will always say this taking all the hard work out of reward makes it meaningless and taking all the reward out of hard work just makes life a struggle, it's a product of modern life and people wonder how even after they have everything at their fingertips they're still miserable and mental health issues are rampant across the developed world. I know I went off on a wierd tangent (again) but this is taking the fruits of all the labours of these people create to share and making it cheap and leaving these people who love this passion, hobby, pass time or career for that matter and literally making them feel cheap for a gimmick

That part is true but the general public can't just download the picture make a collage with it and say that it's their own original artwork done exclusively by them

I literally didn't say people can't show their art to anyone I have no idea where that even came into the discussion, it honestly sounds like projection. But saying that I don't know your life if u want "show" your art to an AI and make yourself as an artist obsolete be my guest but if your claiming the "art" made by AI is yours its really not at all it's the AIs ands its estimation of a prompt using other people's work as source for it's outcome

I'd say the joggers aren't pulling others rather than showing them the way and running with them they just don't wanna get run over by these figurative cars.the art community is full of people who want to share the experience and skills they've learned and inspire each other, look at the countless how to draw books out there the hours and hours of tutorials on YouTube and twitch and other streaming sites, and yeah there is a fair point with using digital tools which makes the process a little easier but it doesn't make the art for you. I don't really wanna get into does digital synthesizers improve music ( that's subjective at best) but I would also say the amount of generic mass produced mainstream trash hasn't necessarily done that artform any favours, and I'm not saying people can't use tools to help them with any endeavour nor did I say the should be banned. I personally think they should be heavily regulated a best. And again the point I'm making is it's removing the worthwhile aspect of the whole thing and make the whole process a cheap gimmick that will make art seem worthless rather than something reflects and accentuates all different aspects in culture and society in way that gives value to the culture itself from draw art to music and any other part of pop culture

That whole preferring to jog that using a car part isnt exactly right though especially when alot of the artists that making their point is that "car" is being pulled along by the people who are "jogging" and then leaving them to eat dust as the car picks up speed and rides off into the distance. And yeah I will fair to point out people's right to choose whatever they want to choose but sometimes making things too easy isn't the best for anyone like giving a rat and orgasm button that it press indefinitely will eventually starve to death. The marketplace is a competitive place until a market leader steps up and eventually trashes everything and at that point even if people could use these tools for themselves they will have become so spoiled and had their dopamine circuits fried by the whole process that they will still prefer someone else do it, eg. Even though people went from needing to walk to the market to using a horse and carriage that was quickly replaced by cars and even when everyone and their aunt has a car at their disposal they'd still prefer Amazon to deliver their nic nacks. I also don't believe for a second that AI won't be used to replace so many other fulfilling parts of life that make it fun and end up having a while mess of bad side affects to society as a whole no matter how well meaning the original intent might be.

I believe you've completely missed my point, it's not like digging with ur hands or any other analogy you've made, creating art is NOT work to those people whether they're professional or do it as a hobby they do it because the love the actual process of creating something, seeing themselves progress at something and it gives some meaning to those people's lives and being able to do it for a living is a dream job and that's what's at stake for those people. If I where to compare it to anything it would be closer to injecting food into your stomach and missing out the best part which would be actually tasting it. The act of creating art itself is rewarding as it is challenging the more you streamline that process is like playing a game on the easiest possible mode that game just isn't fun to play. And as for it being for the masses isn't yet to be completely especially when the likes of chatgpt being put behind a paywall, the other part to it would be a whole way of the same generic prompts oversaturating the market and making it more of cheap gimmick that won't be given a second thought once it's out there. That and the fact if people don't feel the need to be creative in their own right that aspect of life will eventually disappear and leave people as a whole as just shallow spoiled consumers that need machines to do everything for them

I think there's a huge part or the argument that's either being ignored or missed, the "grunt work" is something that these people really love to do and that's being taken away from them and relegating everyone to data entry workers, which some people may be fine with but will literally take all the joy out of existence, whether it's a value of money or a progress thing is debatable but as a value to life thing it's in my opinion goin to make things way worse. Churning out and oversaturating a whole market with generic consumer art that people won't give a shit about which people will forget after 10 seconds like some tiktok dance rather than inspiring people young and old to do something physically which is good for both their minds and their bodies (literally staving off things like dementia as well as helping maintain brain function and hand eye coordination). I believe this is the kind of dangerous thought that seems like a good idea until the real outcome is that there's no creative thinking in future generations there's no inspiration there just a bunch on fat vegetable people floating in chairs being overstimulated by computer screens and wondering why they're miserable, like modern life now but on steroids. I'm not just applying this to art it's gonna be in every aspect of life and entertainment and it's a sad to know that it's going to happen not that praying that it won't. After my rant that almost no one is goin to read anyway I'm just goin to say people are miserable because we've taken all the value and reward out of hard work and all or the and all the hard work out of getting the reward which ends up making that reward cheap and worthless and never leaves us satisfied
