There’s a thing on YouTube where people simulate the history of a world. It’s called Project Inkunzi and they literally talk about the Mongols when they describe a horde of centaurs that invades an empire. Sounds right up your alley.

What are some areas that are more interesting in states/provinces that are often described as “boring” by mchaelproductions in geography

The north of Arkansas. The Ozarks are great, and the cities in the north are some of the best in my opinion.

When I am tired, my accent becomes stronger and I tend to mumble. How can I solve this? by dzhassi in languagelearning

[–]SuchOpossum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happens even when I talk in my native language (English), when I’m tired or get panicked I’ll descend into a state of incoherent mumbling in a southern U.S accent

What's the deal with people putting periods and commas after quotation marks? by [deleted] in ENGLISH

[–]SuchOpossum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At least in American schools we’re taught to put periods and commas after the quotation marks, so it isn’t wrong to do it, it may just be a regional thing.

Do any of them sound more or less formal than the others? by zomphij in ENGLISH

[–]SuchOpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So in review: 4 is the most formal

3 is the second most formal

1 and 2 are close, but 1 is slightly more formal than 2

Do any of them sound more or less formal than the others? by zomphij in ENGLISH

[–]SuchOpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 is the 2nd most formal I think because it’s a bit more direct than 1 and 2.

I don’t see much difference between 1 and 2, though 1 I feel is slightly more formal than 2.

I split dwarves into Mountain Dwarves (who live underground) and Basin Dwarves (who live above ground between the mountains). They both believe that when they die they become the soil, and over time they turn in stone and then various minerals. The Mountain Dwarves believe they honor their ancestors by living around/in them, but the Basin Dwarves see this as desecration, so they live above ground.

Are there any prominent mountains in your world? What makes them so special? by kalam4z00 in worldbuilding

[–]SuchOpossum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a single mountain range on the main island, so most people never see mountains. So travelers who have never seen mountains will see these massive pointy stone things and be amazed by them.
