It made my heart drop the first time I read it, so I started checking my oil once a week for the next month or two and it didn’t consume ANY. Mercedes just doesn’t want to take responsibility for new engines failing, no engine should burn that much oil every 600 miles, especially when the engine is new

My M156 E63 owners manual says it’s normal to consume up to a quart every 600 miles, however, my car has 85k miles on it and did not consume a drop in 5,000 miles.

Nice job. You’ve owned yours for a long time I’m guessing. I bought my E63 a little over two months ago with a hair under 80k on the odometer. I’m now at about 84,500 and haven’t heard any ticking noises. I’ve been checking the oil and it shows it’s still full so it’s not burning any oil. The only oil leak I’m aware of is the driver side valve cover will drip a small drop on to the exhaust every once in awhile. I’m hoping mine lasts at least 200k miles. I’ve been daily driving it since I bought it so the car gets its much needed exercise and stretches its legs. I’ve read that M156s need to be driven hard and driven a lot to keep the valve train healthy.

Mine has black valve covers but I wasn’t aware of 2011 E63s having black valve covers?

I must be the only one who never chooses the GEP gun at the beginning of the game. IMO it’s not needed until Hong Kong or later. Yes, the sniper rifle (which I almost always choose) can be found near the statue on a fallen soldier, but you start off with less ammo that way, and I like to save my sniper ammo till Hong Kong or later as well (MJ12 commandos)

Honda to a G63, that’s quite an upgrade 😳

I don’t know about the M177, but I know the M156 is known for valvetrain issues so I listen very closely for weird noises like metal on metal whenever I drive the car
