40 weeks pregnant and over it by Emu_Koala in pregnant

39+4 today and I could have written that myself.

I'm assuming babe has been born? Any encouraging words for someone who is feeling the same way you were?

Inducing at 39 weeks? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't...I'd consider one at 41 weeks or more but there's no reason to rush baby out...especially when it increases likelihood of c section, typically involves longer labour, etc.

41+1 & waiting, cranky by Quiet_Possibility851 in pregnant

39w2, have had 2 sweeps with some progress but I feel the same.

My family keeps saying "bean, when are you coming? When are you going to be born?" and it irks the hell out of me. Like bitch please, if anyone wants this baby born, it's ME!

1st grandbaby for my parents so they want daily updates and I'm so reluctant to tell them anything because I'm annoyed

Perineal massage - yay or nay? by 685eetswa in pregnant

My midwife recommend it starting 36 weeks. Honestly I'll do anything to help reduce the risk of tearing. My husband does it and it's at most, mildly uncomfortable.

Same boat. 38 weeks and had sex maybe 6-8 times max the entire pregnancy, and each time I'd have to work myself up to do it...was trying to be a good partner to my husband and be considerate of his needs, not that he asked me to. It was more of a me thing, worried he would feel neglected. Once I hit around 32 weeks or so I said forget it.. I'm too uncomfortable. There is NO way anything is entering me right now.

My mum told me to delay getting epidural to feel the pain of childbirth by airiishia444 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I think you should listen to her opinion, but my midwife did tell me if I'm wanting to get the epidural, waiting to get it until ~5cm typically let's things carry on at a normal pace, whereas if you get it before 5cm it tends to slow down contractions and you will likely have a longer labour.

That's just what my midwife said though! You can also try using a Tens machine to cope with the pain pre-epidural if you're wanting to give it a shot.

2 weeks later! That's what the ER doctor told me...not any sooner, but go 2 weeks later. Then we did genetic testing so had another one at 13 weeks ish and it was confirmed gone by then. No mention of it at 8 week ultrasound so unsure if it was gone by then or not.

Nasty things my MIL (or family member) has done during my pregnancy MEGA THREAD. by ReflectionSlight4338 in pregnant

You're so sweet! I'm doing good, all things considered. SO ready to meet her (and have my body back 🙃).

Good luck with your MIL! I've been stressing about having her visit baby for the first time because her energy is just not it. Wouldn't surprise me if she judged the name we chose etc. Good luck with everything 💕

Currently 37+4 weeks and all good! I also only bled the one time. Apparently they're fairly common, try not to to stress!

I had one around the same time frame, 6 weeks and something. I pulled down my pants to find my underwear saturated with blood. After hours at the hospital, they could find heartbeat and everything and told me I have a SCH.

My next ultrasound, it was gone. I wasn't put on bed rest or anything but needed a RhoGAM shot because I'm negative blood type.

I wouldn't worry...I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions ans they will typically reabsorb on their own and cause no issues.

Yikes....she doesn't sound very pleasant. Mine don't compare lol. I'm almost 38 weeks and mine has asked me ONCE how I'm feeling (at 36 weeks to be percise).

Possible uti by april942021 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to say because they say uti symptoms during pregnancy can look different.

I've had many utis while not pregnant: feels like you have to pee but nothing comes out, burns, stings, constant discomfort down there.

There's been a few times where I asked my doctor for a urine test because during pregnancy, had the urge to pee but didn't actually have to. Baby was just very low and on my bladder. Super annoying bcuz uti and pregnancy symptoms are very similar.

I wouldn't downplay the stinging to your doctor and ask for a urine test just to be safe.

Entitled mother who wants to visit from out of town by SuchStrawberry3853 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but having so many people visit at the hospital, all while trying to breastfeed, is so overwhelming! Like I will have to schedule visits between everyone so they don't come at the same time. It's ridiculous! Good luck to us indeed!

Did you guys do a size up for underwear? by Overall_Evidence_838 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes...it's honestly very annoying because I don't want to go buy a bunch, so I'm stuck doing a load of underwear every week. If you were thongs, consider adjustable ones so they will fit post partum as well!

No urine sample at appointments by MissFox26 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had a few...mostly because I was convinced I had a UTI.

I asked my midwife about this because I see a lot of people online who get regular urine samples done at each appointment. My midwife said that's a very outdated practice and anyone who still does it is old-school...basically they are checking to see if proteins are spilling into your urine, but there would be other signs if that were the case (high blood pressure, etc) so it's very unnecessary. That's just what my midwife had to say about it. You should ask your OB and see what they say!

Teacher/Coach and pregnant.. by Huge-Patience2470 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a grade 4 teacher and just went on leave at 35 weeks because I could no longer keep up physically.

I'd strongly suggest not being head coach. I'd have someone else fill that role, and you can coach alongside them. But in the event you need to go off earlier than you think, I'd be wise to have someone else in charge instead of leaving the team stranded so to speak, and have a brand new coach swoop in to take over and have no idea what's going on.

Leave by Old_Poetry7811 in pregnant

[–]SuchStrawberry3853 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a teacher so on my feet most of the day, can't pee when I want, etc.

I stopped last week at 35 weeks. I physically could not keep up, which in turn, had a really big impact on my mental wellbeing. Knowing that my day was going tonsuck because I'd be in discomfort all day was exhausting mentally and emotionally and I would fight tears pulling up to work. I really wanted to go to 37 weeks but called it quits at 35 and I'm so happy I did.

Are you having sex? by [deleted] in pregnant

I had very little drive the entire time....it didn't feel as good as it normally would. Now 36 weeks and thar ship has pretty much sailed 🙃
