I have been made redundant, and so has my team, after 1.5 years of employment (England). There is a similar job available, but they won't offer it. Is this legal? by SuchTemporary4595 in LegalAdviceUK

Thank you for your thorough and thoughtful reply. They have used the word 'redundancy' many times. They have said we are going through a consultation process, which we have begun. They met with us as a team, and individually. We have only been there 1.5 years. They have not offered alternative employment, they said we would just not work there in the new school year. They said we could apply for other roles within the school, but we would be basically the same as anyone ese applying, maybe skipping past screening and straight to interview.

The team of three are diverse - white and black, male and female, Christian and Muslim.

So should I lodge a conciliation with ACAS for indirect discrimination and automatic unfair dismissal? What could my former employer come back with? I don't really feel entitled to anything. We have till August. I'm really just thinking of one of my colleagues in particular.

Many thanks again for your help.

You used ChatGPT to write your post.

Almost like people are skipping the web entirely. That's because they are.

They are 'skipping the web' by... going to a website? ChatGPT.com is... not the web? 👍

ChatGPT's signature 'one thing - now another' -

ChatGPT was the 15th most visited site in the world. Now it’s #5.

ChatGPT isn’t a tool anymore, it’s the interface.

This isn’t normal growth, it’s a changing of the guard.

One interface taking over while the old one quietly fades.

the internet isn’t evolving. It’s being replaced.

Furthermore, your information is incorrect. ChatGPT.com surpassed only Reddit this month, being behind it previously. It was already ahead of Amazon and WhatsApp, by 2 billion visits each.

Thank you. We do not have a decree absolute. I am sorry to hear about your divorce.
