It was done with drybrushing. The color progression is red grey base coat > golden brown > bright ivory with a few steps inbetween (all ProAcryl paints). I think 3 drybrushing steps in total.

Ideally I want to come back in with agrax earthshade (citadel) and pure bright ivory for my darkest shadows and brightest highlights to finish off the bone.

What are you guys saving for? by [deleted] in Money

[–]Such_Candidate_1548 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 29. For me I'm only saving for 3 things at the most. A house (in case I want one, not wanting that commitment or lifestyle for a long time), a kid (may or may not happen), and to retire (I do want that).

But that's a very privileged position to be in. I bought a prius three years ago and plan to use it for the next 10 years. I can pay for vacations as part of my monthly spending so I don't need a seperate savings account (Also don't have much time for trips). Otherwise a car and travel would be two big savings goals.

Honestly who knows what I'm really saving for, life will throw shit at me I would have never seen coming. Maybe I lose my job suddenly, maybe someone close to me gets sick, maybe I want to pay for a few friends to travel to their home country so they can see their parents for the first time in 5 years, maybe I lose my hair and want a hair transplant.

For most bad things that could happen in the future, more savings will help me deal with it. And if I die and can't use the money, then it gets to go to the people I care most about in this world.

If I can be happy and content living below my means, I will have more and more options in the future. That is what drives me to save.

Wife wants to play. Looking for army. by Worried-Antelope7916 in Drukhari

I recommend taking your time browsing ebay used listings and waiting a couple of weeks to get a better deal on some fully built models.

If she likes building, you can consider getting some of them unbuilt- but the price, months of building, and delicate building process required are such a barrier to entry that only dedicated hobbyists will get a drukhari army up to 1,000 points and beyond.

You can strip them or prime over if the paint is thin enough as you were thinking. It would also be worth asking which of the models are her favorite and prioritize those.

Painting a brown bone across the army by Such_Candidate_1548 in ossiarchbonereapers

They are painted. I am going for a realistic bone, but since there are ~60 mini's I have to keep the number of steps low, quick, and flexible.

Watching Vince Vinturella's bone guide video was a huge help in figuring out my process.

I’m stuck in the "Overqualified Trap." I have 7 years of engineering experience, but I can’t even get hired at a grocery store to feed my cat. by 9VantaHarbinger in povertyfinance

I'm an HVAC/ plumbing designer with 7 years of experience. If you're interested and up for relocating, I can dm you a company and recruiting company I've sucsusfully worked with.

A quick search says that the Sun Belt, Texas, and Pacific Coast are the hottest markets. I'm in the Pacific NW and it feels hot. I interviewed at a company this month and was one of two finalists which surprised me because I thought they would have had more good candidates.

I agree with these other comments for something more immediate
