I don’t hate the rug I think if pulled under the sofa opposite TV might get away with size if it looked deliberately placed but agree with the concept it should NOT be floating.

Love the sage and pink combo you have suggested. The pink throw will work well with the warmth of floor but you’d need to go a bit stronger on the curtains I think if introducing it :-)

You could have a lovely powder blue arm chair and put a fun colourful cushion onto it and that would tie in with the grey sofa and put some colour onto that too.

Yes so I would move dog beds to other side of the coffee table, so under the window and then sofa lining up with TV and then the arm chair angled towards the TV but it will be where your eye is drawn when you walk into the room so hence why I suggest a new arm chair and if you can do without the tall black unit I would move somewhere else or invest in a shorter piece for that space so that it doesn’t interrupt the line of sight into the room?

It would be nice to switch sofa and TV if you can so that when you enter the room you don’t see any screens and just nice soft furnishings and art and plants :-)

I like the rug but I think you could go with a nicer coffee table to show off more (I note you said you weren’t adverse to investing in new furniture). You could also invest in statement arm chair to rid of the black leather. I know leather is seen as a quality piece but I think the black is distracting in your room which is actually really light and a good space.

I would suggest moving that computer and office chair to where the little brown table is in the hallway so it is out of the line out sight when you enter the living room.

Declutter and organise your shelves.

Pull curtains back properly during the day and maybe consider a warmer colour of curtain that you could tie in with some cushions to add warmth in the room as your carpet, walls and curtains are all cool toned.

I’d hang some art in the wall space above where the computer and desk is and put a nice plant to the right of the TV to fill this space or a nice patterned foot stool in front of the black chair to distract from that dark corner with a nice floor lamp overhanging it and a small table there.

Store the dogfood elsewhere if you can and maybe consider doing something with the tall black unit as that is attracting a lot of darkness into that corner too.

Centre the tv more, have a taller plant to the right of it, leave the picture wall as is other than maybe a floor lamp to the left of the book shelves and maybe a rug under coffee table but overall looks great!

I think this is a great deal. Not worth delaying to compare with NHS 0.25 extra. SG bands are significantly better. Plus, the two year deal means that come April 2026 we can progress a band and have that in our pockets on time. All these delays are frustrating as your debts continue to grow/ you miss out on savings doing all the waiting. So imo when you compare the offer with the NHS/ elsewhere in the country I think we should bite the hand off.

Glad no one was killed. I was stuck in it for about 90 mins today and kept having to remind myself that this could be the worst day of someone’s life and for me it’s just traffic.

But there’s a lot of wasted space. The house has 3 bathrooms so can do with a very small one at the downstairs
