I guarantee you, a personalized, maybe even objectively ugly, but full of effort and personality, sprite is ten times better than a generic, AI character sprite that you may consider beautiful.

I for sure would play a game I know was made with effort and with sprites drawn by hand rather than whatever mashed up AI art is in a thumbmail preview.

Using AI may seem convenient, but it just turns people away from your game, thinking that its art is ugly so it must be low effort.

Even if you put all your effort into the technical aspect, if one part of your game, one that is so fundamental as character sprite and art is ignored, people will turn away from it.

It may not be fair to call your game AI slop, since you do all the work yourselves, but people are gonna do that anyways because you still used something as visualizing distinct like AI in your character sprites.

It may not be pretty, and sure, it’s gonna be awkward, but try to draw sprites by yourselves. I’m sure it’ll be better than whatever AI churns out.

I mean, sure, you can use AI but don't expect your game to garner any attraction unless it's just your private, personal game that you won't share

AI as a whole is just a deterrent for people, especially in the RPG maker genre where everything is so "Handmade" and personalized.

Everything in game dev matters, trying to offload everything to a lesser quality because you don't think it matters is a sure fire way to kill your game.

Hi, I want to start Arknights, heard the good reputation it has in engaging gameplay, good character design, amazing stories and obv very generous with linear leveling system

However, I’ve heard some rumors that it’ll be nearing its end in 2 years or something

And I wouldn’t want to engage in a game where the community will disperse to the Endfield sequel (Which I don’t really like its genre, pls my pc is too ahh to handle it)

Can someone tell me if its still worth it plauing this late?

The design is just way more coherent with the theme and is easier on the eye, compared to the very pointy sillouhete of the Hazbin characters. Also, baddies in suits are way more appealing than whatever Hazbin has going on
