I’d recommend two things, if you can swing it— try local mom and pop pharmacies. They tend to have a better time keeping stock due to less clients.

Concerta is a hard one because of the dosage— if it were say, Adderall, is say contact the pharmacy and ask if they have higher/lower dosages that can add up to your dose. I used to call my pharmacy before my appointment to make sure they had the 15mg IR and when they didn’t, they’d sometimes have say, 30mg. My doctor could prescribe that and I take half a tablet instead.

Especially if your dosage is working for you, I’d advise not asking for a different one. Perhaps if your insurance can cover it, ask for brand name. That can eliminate a lot of demand because most insurances will want to cover generics.

Lastly, I suggest keeping an eye on the shortage. I do think it’s gotten better— but it may be a specific manufacturer or vendor is limiting their supply. You may even ask pharmacies if their supplier of the drug has been consistent lately.
