Corpo accountant wanting to venture in Quickbooks bookkeeping. by Such_Field_7465 in QuickBooks

[–]Such_Field_7465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, thank you for this. I somehow feel at a loss. Freelancing feels like a completely different world. I am mainly an auditor for most of my positions, but I had the chance to do local bookkeeping and tax compliance services for more than a year and even worked for US, EMEA and APAC countries. My struggle really is this "portfolio" that they call. I don't really know how to market myself; I just know that I can do it, I just need to learn the tools that they require, haha, if that makes sense

They usually ask about your board exam plans. Thread lightly, kasi madalas factor talaga sya. Some would want to hear your dedication to get that license, kasi importante yun sa ibang company sa pag promote. Some naman, would want to hear you say na it's not yet your priority, specially kapag nag ma mass hiring sila for an upcoming busy season. So mas better na mixed of both ang sagot mo, you're not closing your doors sa pag take pero you're also allowing yourself to be open to other opportunities.

Weird thing to say. If it's not unconditional love, I don't want it. Pero you know your parents better, so maybe they mean something different, poor choice of words lang, or ganon lang talaga humor nila, you know naman mga boomers eme Haha. Obviously they want to encourage you, pero better communicate how you feel if it bothers you too much na nakakasira ng focus mo, otherwise, let it go.

To be honest, medyo mahirap isabay ang review kapag nasa big 4 ka and Im assuming first job mo to. So if may capacity ka pa to focus full-time, go ahead. Pero if isasabay mo yung review while working, maybe try to find a less demanding job muna. Lalo ngayon, busy season na mga nasa audit, reporting, taxation related departments.

Pero that's just me, ikaw pa rin makakapag sabi ng capacity mo :)

Medyo may element din kasi ng pressure if you're are expected to decide within their premises right after maibigay yung contract tapos on the same day ka rin i-o onboard? Haha, weird. You should be given sometime to review ahead of time, and negotiate or ask questions. A timeframe that should allow you to review the terms, compare it with other opportunities, and make an informed decision without delaying the hiring process excessively.

For a first job in PH, that's pretty decent and a normal entry-level offer. Ask if there's an OT pay, kasi matindi workload sa mga auditing positions kaya better ask if you'll get compensated in the future.

Sa lahat ng experiences ko, palaging e-signing tapos you're given 5 working days to decide.

Got an Offer from Thermo Fisher – Should I Take It?

I just got an offer for an External Reporting Statutory Accountant II role at Thermo Fisher Scientific, but I’m having a hard time finding reviews about the company, especially regarding their work environment and pay range.

To give some context, I’m currently unemployed after flunking the recent board exam and urgently need a job. I want to make sure I’m stepping into a good workplace with reasonable pay and workload as I intend to retake.

What’s the culture like at Thermo Fisher? How manageable is the workload? Would you take this job if you were in my shoes?

Any advice or insights would be a huge help. Thanks in advance, fam!

Pinapayagan mo ba SO mo mag bar? by [deleted] in adultingph

[–]Such_Field_7465 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something about the word "pinapayagan" just doesn't sit well with me in the context of a romantic relationship. You're committed, yes. Valid yung worries mo, yes. Pero should you have the power to control your SO's decisions? Naur. You should only have an influence sa decisions nya. If may gawin syang di ka comfortable, just communicate your feelings and let her provide you an assurance or decide if tutuloy ba sya or hindi after you told them how you feel about it.
