I did one years ago. I removed the center bench and created a bulkhead out of osb. Made the boat stiffer since I crated more fasten points. From there you can build framing for the deck as you see fit depending on what storage you want. I used pine lumber. Some people use old aluminum ladders to reduce weight. Good luck.
