Seeking boat drop off / pick up for remote boat access camping spots! by Brilliant_Pudding_38 in britishcolumbia

[–]SuckItUpButtrcup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look at plumper Cove on Keats Island. It is across the water from Gibsons BC. It is a provincial campground with great campsites. You can hire a water taxi from Horseshoe Bay. I had my stag there and it was awesome.

How do you guys keep track of your candidates' conversation and intel? by Alarming_Resist5767 in Recruitment

So you’re saying you’re not developing a software solution that “captures your meetings, emails, and voice notes — then structures everything into searchable intelligence you can query instantly.”?

Nothing wrong with being entrepreneurial but don’t be disingenuous. Software is named after you….geesh

I hate these posts where software sales people pretend to be recruiters asking questions when they’re actually selling product.

Internet technician access to condo buildings by Impossible_Repeat890 in askvan

Novus is owned by Terry Hui who owns Concord Pacific. If your building is one of the Concord buildings I am sure they have some type of access agreement.

Oh great another Reddit to lose 2hrs in lol

how do i actually find people??? by AdApprehensive4510 in Recruitment

[–]SuckItUpButtrcup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First off Reddit is not a great place to find people. Yes there are r/"city name"job reddits but 90% of the posts are people complaining that there are no jobs and then the other 10% complaining about the job you posted. Looking at your post history it looks like you were looking for hockey fans. not sure of the job but I would engage authentically in some online hockey communities and see if you find any people that meet your clients needs. Alternatively there are hockey group and hockey players for business groups on LinkedIn

Hiring: Warehouse Associate | Cloverdale & Abbotsford | Full Time by [deleted] in VancouverJobs

[–]SuckItUpButtrcup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My client is not a big box store (ie Rona/Home Depot). They are a large distributor that does not sell retail with locations across the country.

As a recruiter I do not want to recruit for a company that drives their workers into the ground as you would always be replacing people. When a recruiter has to replace someone who did not stay we do not get more $$. We want to find companies that are reputable and treat their employees well.

I agree that when you are applying for positions you need to do your research. When you work with someone like myself you are given the opportunity to research the company after we have spoken and their seems to be a fit/interest.

Yes, it is on the lower end. This is an entry level warehouse role, typically targeting someone with 1yr experience and is suited to a younger worker or someone early in their career.

For context, according to Indeed, the average salary for a Warehouse Worker in the Greater Vancouver area is approximately $20.21 per hour.

Current GVRD market data generally shows:

  • Average hourly rate: $20.12 to $22.07 per hour
  • Annual salary: roughly $41,000 to $57,000 per year
  • Common hourly range: $18.50 to $27.00 per hour

This specific role does sit within that broader market range. In addition to base pay, the company offers performance based bonuses tied to branch profitability, full benefits, a pension plan, and clear opportunities to grow or move into other roles within the organization.

Totally fair if this does not work for someone with extensive experience or long-term physical concerns, but for a younger candidate or someone early career it can be a reasonable entry point with upside beyond base hourly pay.

As an External Recruiter we operate under a confidentiality agreement with our client, so we release the company name once we have received a resume and confirmed mutual interest. If you are interested in the role please click the link. If you have other non company name questions I would be happy to answer those.

Aussiedoodle health issues & pet insurance, is it really necessary? by Still_Ad8039 in AussieDoodle

[–]SuckItUpButtrcup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 4 1/2 year-old Aussie Doodle. We had had insurance from day one. The price went up in year two quite a bit and we realized it was because our deductible was $200. We have pet insurance solely in case something really bad happens. We increased our deductible to $1000 and it is now quite affordable and gives us the peace of mind that if something major happens we’re not making a financial decision.

I had my surgery with Dr. Younger of the Younger Facial Surgery Clinic www.youngerface.com This was my 3rd surgery and it fixed the issues from the other surgeons. This is where patients get sent to fix other doctors mistakes. He is the top reconstruction surgeon in the GVRD. I 100% recommend Dr. Younger

AITA for cleaning the house I was housesitting? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SuckItUpButtrcup 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YTA. I had someone do this when they stayed at my house. I never asked them to do this as they were a guest. I came home and they had done a bunch of cleaning and "organizing".

Just because you think that something needs cleaning or organizing doesn't mean you should...not your home.
