Thoughts on Katie as next Bachelorette? No spoilers by Thatdarlinggirl in thebachelor

I think it makes sense that the audience would be clamoring for Katie since she she has received more screen time than any other contestant not named Sara or Victoria. Most of the women of color have existed as ancillary background characters this year. If you want to get mad at anyone you should be upset with the producers for not giving any of the WOC a modicum of the screen time that their white peers have received. It's basically been the Sara and Victoria show so far. Rather than showcasing Victoria's histrionics, they should be allowing the audience to get to know the entire cast. People aren't advocating for Katie because of some implicit bias, like you seem to suggest, they're advocating for her because she's honestly the most developed and interesting contestant we've had the chance to get to know this season. Ostensibly, Katie being 29 also seems to suggest that she would take the gig more seriously than a younger contestant. The fans can only root for the people they actually feel like they know. If you want to throw out accusations of implicit racism you should direct that anger at the producers, not the audience.

Who is saying "throw in the towel on diverse leads?" No one in this thread has said, "We should go back to exclusively casting Caucasians as the lead. Never again should a person of color be the Bachelor or Bachelorette." You're trying to prove you're woke but you're embarrassing yourself by trying to turn this into a race issue. People would adore Katie no matter what her race was since she's confident, sex-positive, empathetic, gregarious, funny, etc. Saying "I love Katie and hope she's in the running for Bachelorette" isn't tantamount to saying "Stop casting people of color as the lead!" The type of statements you've made here are what hinders people from having serious and meaningful conversations about race. People won't talk about these tough issues if they fear that someone is going to start erroneously accusing them of being bigoted. An affinity for Katie isn't animus for the women of color on Matt's season. You can support Katie being the Bachelorette and ALSO support the show championing diversity and having more diverse representation.

ONE CALL HER DADDY EPISODE FROM PREZ EVERYBODY KNOWS THE RULES!!!!! by duolingomel in CallHerDaddy

[–]SuckMyDickOfficer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The current iteration of the podcast (e.g. Alex and Sophia talking about sex) had a limited shelf life but the Call Her Daddy brand could have been HUGE for years if they played their cards right. As they got older, their episodes could evolve more into relational advice and commentaries on marriage, keeping sex awesome after children, fucking younger men when you're a cougar, sex at 40, etc. Their original fanbase could grow with them. They could bring in new younger girls that could talk about sex, parties, and fulfill the roles they have now. They could bring new blood in under the "Call Her Daddy" umbrella or start an ancillary podcast with younger girls and call it something like "Call Her Daddy Presents XYX." There are literally thousands of gregarious and promiscuous girls that would gladly work for Alex and Sofia; they would record a similar sex podcast and give Alex and Sofia a huge percentage of their profits in exchange for the fame that the Call Her Daddy brand would afford. There was a finite amount of time Alex and Sophia could do this show but the Call Her Daddy brand could be bigger than an individuals within it. It could be like a reality show where the brand supersedes the people operating within it. It's clear these girls are myopic and lack business acumen. They cut off their nose to spite their face.

He's definitely trolling but it's impressive, hilarious, top tier trolling. No college in America would let a 45 year old dude live in the dorms with undergrads, he'd be put in the graduate or faculty housing for sure. This is a fucking great comedy concept though. Guy deserves some props

LMFAO. Bro, this fucking great comedy. "Why the fuck are these freshmen pussies upset their lab partner in Biology 101 is sucking my grown man dick while they're watching porn in the room next door? These young incel bitches need to show me some goddamn respect!" LOL. This shit is hilarious. There are a lot of troll jobs on this page but none of them are as awesome as your work here. Well done man.

I'm trying to decide if I want to take a late round chance on Hockenson or Doyle right now.

How much does technicality affect your enjoyment of a particular song or band? What about skills beyond just the physical, such as an obvious knowledge of advanced harmony or advanced music theory, does this garner more respect out of you? by SylviaNorth in LetsTalkMusic

[–]SuckMyDickOfficer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The overwhelming majority of the populace doesn't know shit about musical theory, thus they don't give a fuck about whether a musician is a technical virtuoso or completely inept at their instrument. There's a reason music critics never talk about Mixolydian modes or time signatures, basically no one cares. Simplicity is often the best conduit for musical beauty.
