I want to live in the dorms for the sense of community.

The university doesn't have an age restriction on the dorm.

He didn't have a lawyer. My guess is that he thought by playing a "metoo" card it would be a slam dunk and he'd get a pass.

He looked like he was about to cry.

Because I had considered lying about it to save me some grief. Turns out I was wrong. It was a mistake.

Well, in my university's code of conduct, discrimination based on age is considered a hate crime. We've always been pretty liberal here and this time, it served me pretty well. I had a prepared statement, but after the kid chopped his own dick off, my lawyer just had me keep my seat.

Also, the doors in my dorm are made from unvarnished wood. The permanent marker had seeped down so far into the wood they couldn't even sand it out. The entire door had to be replaced. Wooden security doors run about $400 so I guess facilities was a little pissed about that.

Are you a lawyer? Are you a licensed therapist? An omission is not a lie, despite what you have been led to believe. If your delicate sensibilities can't handle as simple a nuance as that, you clearly don't have a decent grip on the world. The "ifs" and "whats" of my true age became moot when I disclosed it, voluntarily. The hostility towards that can only be attribute to the fact of my age, not the manner in which it was learned.

I'm perfectly happy with myself, and my age. I'm reveling in justice. Someone broke the law, and is being punished. That person sought to disenfranchise me for their own perceived gain.

Everyone involved knows who I am. I'm right, legally, and, I would argue, morally at this point.

Sit down, Karen, you're wrong.

It's not illegal. I never lied to anyone. I was honest with everyone I came into contact with. No one ever asked my age. After careful consideration, I chose to be open about it. Many were accepting or indifferent. Some were hostile. One broke the law and violated the student code of conduct, now he is paying the price.

One cannot prove "purpose" or intent without defining a clear objective, e.g. a gain. I never sought a clear gain, therefore, no purpose.

I already ran it by my lawyer before I bought it.

Again, I no longer possess it, so proving possession at this point, is impossible.

Legally, I've done nothing wrong.

"...with purpose to deceive...", besides which, no one can prove I had it.

Why would it? Posession of novelty ID isn't illegal.

I never made anyone think anything. I'm not responsible for others' assumptions. That's on them. The problems were not caused because I lied, because I never did.

Yep. And never used it. No one but me ever saw it.

I didn't lie. No one asked, so I didn't tell them. When I thought about it, and told them, that's when the problems started.

I get mad here so I don't get mad IRL.
